We were invited to review a Noah’s Ark Hooded Towel Poncho from Splash About and as Zander is too big for the baby towels we used to use as he is now 30 months old, I thought this would be fantastic for him having his own special towel poncho.
The Noah’s Ark Hooded Towel Poncho has a light blue background with an orange arc and orange lion, plus clouds and waves. It is made from natural, luxuriously soft 300-gram pure natural cotton and highly absorbent. The size is 59 cm x 58 cm excluding the hood, it is one size and suitable for children aged between 2-6 years old.
As soon as the poncho arrived Zander was on the package wanting it opened to see what was inside. I opened it and let him see what was inside. He pulled it out and looked a bit confused, I told him it was a new special towel just for Zander and that was it, he wanted a bath to try it out.
I did wash and dry the poncho before he used it. So we were ready to use it and Zander was as excited as ever to get in the bath, he does love his baths. The problem we have is getting him out of it!
When I finally did get him out of the bath he remembered his special towel. I popped it over his head, pulled the hood up and he was away, running around like a loon. The great thing about the poncho thing is it keeps your child’s head and body warm and draws water away from hair and skin which means his hair and body was drying while he was running around aimlessly.
He runs around with it on, I think he likes the freedom of it as he isn’t cocooned up like he would be in a towel. Once I did catch hold of him to get him dry and dressed I found that he was in fact almost dry and the parts that weren’t just needed a slight rub and he was completely dry.
Zander really loves his special towel and asks for it every time he is about to have a bath or shower, although not even the poncho is enough to entice him out until he is reluctantly ready.
There are two hooded towel ponchos to choose from on the Splash About website, Noah’s Ark and Nina’s Ark.
They are great for keeping children warm after swimming, showers and baths. They can be folded flat or rolled for fitting into swimming and beach bags.
