When I need new clothes one of the first places I look is the Simply Be website because I am a curvier woman. Normally I buy tops and jeggings or leggings from there because the quality is fantastic and they are reasonably priced, so when I was asked to choose a full outfit that is my staple wardrobe items for Autumn/Winter I jumped at the chance, well who can say no to new clothes?
It was harder than I thought it would be to pick a full outfit it but eventually, I did manage to choose clothes and footwear that I hope compliment each other although it is something that I would and now do wear a lot together and I haven’t had anyone say they don’t go together.
Let’s start the top end, the first thing I choose was a black stretch camisole. This is a spaghetti strap vest top and literally works with anything you may wear, good for summer on its own but for me right now it is for an underlayer, I don’t want to get cold now, do I? It is 25 inches in length and 95% cotton 5% elastane.
It has quite a bit of stretch to it, it isn’t the thickest of materials but is not too thin either. It does state not to tumble dry it, however, I have because I put everything in the dryer and it came out fine.
For the top outer layer, I chose Joe Browns Mad About The Jumper. This is exclusive to Simply Be in sizes 20 – 32. It is 27 inches in length and is 76% acrylic, 13% polyester and 11% wool.
This jumper has purple and yellow yarnappliqué flowers with small wooden buttons in the centres of them and the detail is fantastic. It has eyelash yarn which gives it a great texture.
I love wearing jumpers, especially if they are a looser fit this is a relaxed fit anyway but I have had Joe Browns clothing before that is a little tighter than other brands. I went a size or two up from normal for this reason and you never know if something might shrink a bit in the wash.
It is very pretty and snuggly too.
Now for the bottoms, black curve control high waist jeggings, these are available in 3 lengths, short, regular and tall. I chose regular which is to fit inside leg 29 inches in length. Short is 27 inches and long is 31 inches. The jeggings are made with 70% cotton, 27% polyester and 3% elastane.
There are two side pockets to the front and 2 back pockets too and also 2 elastic inserts at the front and 1 at the back along the high waistband so the jeggings move with you keeping you comfortable but these jeggings are fantastic because they control the curves without the uncomfortable squashed in feeling which means no more racing to get them off as soon as you get home so you can breathe again.
One thing I did notice as soon as I took them out of the packaging was, they do smell strongly of dye, but one wash and it’s gone and if you have a cat or other animals you handle a lot, it may be worth investing in a lint roller and every piece of fluff and cat hair stuck to mine. I have a lint roller so it wasn’t a problem really.
Finally, it’s time for footwear, trainers, shoes, boots, there were so many choices I chose the Sunday Side Zip Boots which are available in wide E and extra wide EE fitting. I picked the wide E fitting.
These have a block heel which is 2 ½ inches. I usually go for rounded toe boots and shoes, although these have a slightly pointed toe they are not a sharp point and are a little rounder too.
These are made with man-made materials.
I really like these boots because the wideness is just right for comfort and being that little bit wider than regular boots I found the zips did up without a battle. Wearing them all day from new I thought I may suffer from blisters but there was no rubbing at all and no sore feet either. They were the perfect fit and so comfortable.
