The first of December marks the run up to Christmas so this year I am joining in with Blogmas although I will be honest with you I am kind of winging it as there was no prep involved at all. I only realised it was the first of the month today and hadn’t even thought of what I was going to post.
What is Blogmas?
It is a Christmas themed series of blog posts during the month of December. Different bloggers do it for a different amount of days, 12, 24, 25 or 31. I chose 24 as I think I can just about manage 24 days and then I can take some time out and enjoy the celebrations with the family without worrying about publishing posts.
Today is the start of the advent calendar. My two youngest have chocolate advent calendars and today they opened their first window.
Obviously, as Skye is 11 she knows the score with the calendars, one chocolate per day. But Zander is only 2 and a half and I don’t think he remembered last year. Anyway, we opened his window and he got a chocolate soldier inside. He took a look and quickly ate it and then insisted that he wanted more. Yes more seems to be one of his favourite words at the moment *rolls eyes*
I tried explaining to him in a way he would understand that he can only have one a day and when the last chocolate has gone then it’s Christmas Day and he will get presents. Oh, this went down well, because then he thought if he ate ALL of them today he could have presents.
Then it was stamping feet ‘more chocolate’ grouchy 2-year-old time. Boy, he can throw a strop.
Luckily his big sister FaceTimed us at that moment and so he ran into the other room shouting Tiffy and the chocolates were forgotten about.
I wonder if we have the same thing happen tomorrow.
