The end of this pregnancy is nearing and to be truthful with you even though I have done it twice before I am a little scared that the pregnancy is going so quick and it will soon be time to give birth. I did have difficult births with both of my daughters where their heads got stuck and other issues although both came out healthy. But I do wonder if it will be the same this time around, and having the Internet available to search things out makes it even more scary. I was so young and naïve with my first and with my second I didn’t use the Internet much. I just hope for a healthy baby at the end of it.
I had my growth scan almost 2 weeks ago now and I think things are looking a bit brighter. The baby is still measuring big but he hadn’t put on that much weight in 2 weeks, about 6oz so he was estimated at weighing 4lb 3oz this time and he is just below the 90th centile now which is much better than A LOT over it like he was last time. He is now head down too which explains the added pressure down below.
As for the Polyhydramnios, well they could not get an accurate measurement for some reason but my notes now state increased liquor volume rather than Polyhydramnios so hopefully that means it has lessened a bit.
I also visited the diabetic nurse and she was happy with my blood sugar readings and she told me she would discuss with my consultant whether steroid injections were still necessary, I have not heard anything back so I am hoping that they are happy to leave that. I will find out more when I see the consultant tomorrow.
One thing I have noticed since changing my diet to keep my blood sugar levels within range is that I have actually lost weight, 5lb/2.2kg in 2 weeks which I started worrying about but seeing as my tummy is still growing and baby boy is moving around like a loon most of the time I think it is ok.
How Far Along are you? 32 weeks
How I’m Feeling: Who knew that your bladder is the size of an egg cup in the third trimester? I am tired, getting up about 5 times for toilet trips during the night. Other than that quite well.
Total weight gain: Was 5kg but lost 2 of those now so 3kg total.
How big is baby? At 31 weeks he was estimated at weighing 4lb 3oz
Best moments this week: Feeling and watching little man wiggling about sticking his limbs right out of my tummy.
