During this pregnancy I have lived in maternity leggings and oversized jumpers, but they are not suitable for evenings out when I really should make a bit of an effort and ditch the leggings and wear more dresses.
I was offered the chance to review a dress of my choice from House of Fraser and after having a look on the website for a while I finally chose the Bibee Maternity Original Knee-Length Dress in grey.
When It arrived in the post I was surprised by the thickness of the material which is 95% Viscose and 5% Elastane and it was quite heavy. I would say this is classed as a jersey dress.
It is long sleeved and has 3 buttons on each seam side of the breasts.
From the bottom of the breast panel downwards are pleats.
At the back of the dress there is even more details with 2 buttons on each shoulder blade and a pleat in the back which gives even more room for your growing bump.
Now this dress should really be paired with a vest top, the Bibee Vest top is suggested but any will do. This is due to the very low scoop of the neckline which is designed for easy and discreet breastfeeding.
What I like about this dress is it can be worn in pregnancy but also post pregnancy when your body isn’t quite back to normal and you want to cover up your wobbly bits. This dress will really cover it up.
I have worn this several times since receiving it and I am very pleased with it. My bump is getting huge and there is no hiding it but the dress feels so lovely and non-restrictive over it that I am happy wearing it.
(Please excuse my photos, they must be the most unflattering I have ever had taken of me).
Several people have commented on how nice it looks and where it’s from since I have worn it and I am happy to tell them.
It is nice teamed up with flip flops for every day wear or court shoes on an evening out.
The dress washes well, with no colour run and no shrinking. I also put it in the tumble dryer with no problems.
I would recommend this to my friends.
