We love playing games as a family and we were excited to receive Wally The Washer game (rrp £24.99) from Drumond Park to review. Just looking at the box I knew the family would like the simplicity of it.
Wally The Washer was designed exclusively for little ones, as they love watching the clothes spinning around in the washing machine at home – now they can have their own toy version.
Box contents;
- Wally The Washer washing machine
- 5 clothes pieces for each colour, red, blue, green and yellow
- Washing line & poles in reds blue, green and yellow
- Giant clothes peg
- A dirty sock
- Sticker sheet
- Instructions
Wally The Washer requires 3 x AA batteries which are not included. Once we had added the batteries and placed the eye stickers, washing powder box stickers and the dirty sock stickers on we set up the washing lines.
All of the washing including the dirty sock was put into Wally the Washer. We chose which colour washing we would all be. Put the big peg in the middle and started the game. The youngest player went first and that was Zander with a little help from daddy.
We closed Wally the Washer’s door and the drum inside started spinning the clothes around which was a novelty for the kids. Zander pressed the washing powder and the door of the washer popped open and some washing flew out. We all then grabbed our colours of washing and hung it on our lines.
We continued to play and the dirty sock popped out. Now if this happens the clothes were not washed properly so any clothes that fall out with the dirty sock has to go back into Wally’s drum. The player who pressed the powder and stopped Wally now had to wear the giant clothes peg on their nose and has to wear it continuously until the dirty sock comes out again. Skye had to wear the peg haha.
We all had a turn of wearing the giant peg.
The player that hangs up their last piece of washing on their line first is the winner.
Wally the Washer is a brilliant game, not only for younger children but for all the family, we had great fun playing it. It doesn’t take long to set up and it is not a long game so younger ones won’t get bored half way through.
Wally The Washer is suitable for age 4+. For more information and stockists visit www.drumondpark.com
