Now I am 100% vaping it means I get through a lot of e-liquid so I was delighted to be sent Squid Inc Shortfill e-liquids which are available in four flavours; Barb & Cuss, St Clements, Caribbean Crush and The Pearl Bay to review from E-Cigarette Direct.
Legend has it that when Captain Bill Brunton set sail many moons ago upon The Pearl Ruby, the mission for his fearless crew was clear: “Leave no stone unturned, no water uncharted, TIL the finest liquid treasure have been found … and try not to vape it all on your way home.”
Returning countless cloudy. Storms later, just four barrels remained.
Now distilled into short fill bottles, each of these exotic flavours has its own story, and its own complex character that is sure to leave a mark.
It is said that no man has vaped all four flavours and lived to tell the tale … dare you try them all?
All of the Squid Inc short fills come in 50ml bottles, 0mg – nic shot ready and 70/30 VG:PG
First I went with Barb & Cuss ‘a stone cold classic rhubarb and custard that is not to be missed’ in truth, I don’t like rhubarb and custard as a pudding although I do like the sweets, and this did smell like the sweets so I had to try it out as soon as possible.
I put this in my trusty Wizmec CB80 and then I was in vape heaven, it did taste just like the rhubarb and custard sweets and not the pudding (thankfully for me), absolutely delicious it has the perfect strength of flavour, not too weak and not too strong, just right and I would definitely vape this all day.
Next to be tried was Caribbean Crush is ‘a lively mix of sun-soaked tropical fruits with a generous dash of menthol.’
I do love tropical fruit flavours usually but I just couldn’t get on with this flavour, I did persist with it but still, it was not something I overly enjoyed. There was a nice hit on menthol and it was very fruity but there must have been a fruit flavour in there that I’m not keen. It did smell really nice and the flavour was the just right again.
We all have different tastes so just because I didn’t like something doesn’t mean you won’t like it and it’s definitely worth a try if you are thinking about trying something new.
Oranges and Lemons say the bells of St Clements, yep that is what I thought when I saw the name of the St Clements e-liquid, it is ‘a zesty and refreshing citrus soda with orange & lemon.’ Smelling it from the bottle it smelled like traditional lemonade with a hint of orange.
This was really nice and smooth to vape with too. The orange and lemon mix was just right, it wasn’t too sour from the lemon and there was a hint of fizzy to it too. I could definitely vape this all day without getting sick of it!
Raspberry milkshake is what I think of when I think of The Pearl Ruby, which is described as ‘Milk & Raspberry with a subtle hint of caramelised almonds.’ I thought I wouldn’t like this because I am not a lover of the milk type e-liquids but the mix of milk with raspberry and the caramelised almonds really works well.
When drawing the vape you get the three different flavours hit at different times, milk first, followed quickly by the raspberry and then the caramelised almonds which makes it a lovely tasty e-liquid. I could definitely use this all day.
The Squid Inc Short Fill e-liquids mentioned above are £14.99 each which I think is a great price for 50ml. All these and more are available online from E-Cigarette Direct.
