SING Karaoke

We all love karaoke so when we were asked if we would like to do a SING Karaoke to celebrate the release of Sing from Universal Pictures.

SING is a wonderful children’s animation out in cinemas on 27^th January, featuring the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Tori Kelly and Scarlett Johansson. It follows a group of animals, who enter a singing competition hosted by a Koala called Buster, who hopes the funds raised will save his theatre. There’s a character for everyone – a shy elephant with stage fright, a busy mum, a sensitive gorilla, a punk rock porcupine…and everyone who has seen it, has loved it so far.

As well as being hilarious, it’s got a great cast (Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson) and a soundtrack featuring everyone from Taylor Swift to Stevie Wonder. Here’s the trailer.

We were sent a selection of merchandise from the Sing film, as well as an ION Karaoke machine and a voucher to spend on snacks and drinks and to basically have fun singing.

We chose to do this late Sunday afternoon and we had a ball. Even Zander was involved, obviously he couldn’t sing but I did model most of the merchandise that we received.

The great thing about the Sing Soundtrack is that there are a lot of songs on there that everyone will know, for example Shake It Off, I’m Still Standing and Under Pressure.  We found out that if we connected the karaoke machine to the TV that the words came up on the TV too so there was no excuse for forgetting the words.

We loved playing the Sing Bingo. I do love a ballad and the girls like to do mid song raps. The first person to get bingo won a pack of tortilla chips and dips. Although right at the end they did end sharing them with the rest of us.

We had an inflatable guitar and doing the air guitar with this was hilarious.

We would like to thank Universal Pictures and Tesco for a fun evening for us as a family. We will certainly be using these lots.

If you didn’t manage to go to the premiere of Sing I would definitely recommend you to go to the cinema to watch it, it looks like a fantastic film and both my girls have already said they want to watch it.

Sing is at the cinemas from Friday 27^th January 2017.
