I was offered the chance to try some products for vaping and as I do really want to give up smoking I decided to go for it. There was a selection of products I could choose from on the e-cigarette direct website from beginners, intermediate and advanced users.
As you have probably seen in the past I have tried the pen vaping devices before so I would say that I would be an intermediate user now, if you are seriously considering switching from cigarettes to vaping, don’t go cheap. I chose a Tesla Nano 60w battery, a Innokin iSub V tank and two e-liquids, Skye 7 – 13 Sins and Siren Binary e-liquid.
They arrived very quickly and it wasn’t long before I took them all out of the package to have a look at them.
My initial thought of the Tesla Nano battery was wow that is a lot heavier than the pen devices. It was a very pretty blue though and I loved the look and feel of it. It comes in a clear hard plastic box with a USB charger. It has a wattage range of 7-60W and a temperature range from 100-300 degrees Celsius.
This particular battery can be used for both flavour chasing and cloud chasing.
The Innokin iSub V tank looks pretty much like other tanks I have seen previously although this one comes with compatibility with a whole variety of coils which means you can use it for mouth to lung vaping, cloud chasing and temperature control vaping. So the right one for the Tesla Nano battery. It is a 3.0ML Pyrex glass tank and has 100% stainless steel inside, an adjustable airflow. It is replaceable has a removable drip tip and is quite wide.
So the first thing I did was screw the Innokin iSub V to the Tesla Nano. It screwed onto it with ease. I then made sure there was enough battery to try it out before having to recharge it completely. There was plenty of battery life still on it. The next step was to choose which e-liquid I would be using at first. I chose to use the Skye 7 – 13 Sins e-liquid which is a fusion of ripe forest fruits, vanilla cream and honey dew melon. The liquid itself is a pink-purple colour and it does smell divine. This was a large bottle at 30ml. So I put that into the tank, switched it on and I was ready to go.
But I had forgot to look at what wattage the battery was on and I got a massive cloud come out. It looked like a chimney haha my own fault really. I quickly realised what the problem was and changed the wattage down to an appropriate one for me. It really is trial and error until you find a suitable wattage. I usually have mine on 7-10W. You can also change the air flow on the tank which I think is fab. I haven’t tried changing it though as I feel that it is perfect as it is at the moment.
Now when I use vaping liquids I tend to choose 0mg of nicotine as I find it gives a nasty kick in the throat. 0mg do not give this. Some people will argue to the fact if you are not having the nicotine then you will be craving it and just have a normal cigarette. I myself disagree with this. However I do not smoke in my home anyway. I have to go out into the cold which puts me off for a start. I would much rather be in the warm using a vape than going outside in the cold haha.
When I had finished the Skye 7 – 13 Sins e-liquid, which by the way was really nice, the scent of it was a little nicer and fruitier than the flavour but it was still nice but not as strong in flavour as I had hoped. I cleaned out the tank and put some of the Siren Binary e-liquid into the tank. Again this was 0mg nicotine. This was in a smaller bottle at 15ml, it looked green from the bottle but in fact it was a clear liquid. This one was a mix of blue raspberry and grape with a final subtle ingredient that combines to create a candy shop taste. This one reminded me of slushies. This gave a really nice flavour. If I am honest I could not choose a favourite between the two as they were both nice and different to each other.
Emptying the tank is really easy and a lot less mess than other vaping devices I have tried in the past. I cannot tell you whether it leaks or not in bags etc as I have not tested this out. I am not brave enough to trial it and then it leaks all in my new bag, I would be devastated if it got ruined.
I have now been using the vaping device for a good 2-3 weeks now and I can say that I have definitely cut down on the amount of cigarettes I smoke per day, which also means I can get more done as I am not in the garden quite as much.
I do think as with most things, you get what you pay for. This set up was under £90 and the quality of it is a lot better than the ones you would spend less that £10 on.
I would definitely recommend this set up for anyone that is interested in vaping.
