Roald Dahl Day Crafty Twits Challenge

It is Roald Dahl Day today and we were set the challenge of creating a beard which was the most colourful and creative beard imaginable.

We only had a few days to complete this challenge so my 8 year old daughter and myself put our heads together to come up with something. Luckily my daughter has read The Twits recently and she already has some ideas.

The first thing to do was to draw a beard shape on a piece of cardboard.

When my daughter was happy with this we cut up lots of pieces of black and brown wall and poured some glue onto the cardboard and randomly dropped the wall so it was covering the majoring of the cardboard. Pushing it down so we knew it would stick properly.

While we waited for that to dry, my daughter got some green, yellow and red tissue paper, cut a couple of yellow triangles which represented cheese and balled up so pieces of red (tomatoes and ketchup), yellow (mustard) and green (mould) and added them on top of the beard.

Her final pieces to add to the beard were worms, we cut out three worms out of cardboard and stuck them to the beard too.
