Did anyone mention “cleaning” and “reducing stress” in the same sentence? To many of you this probably seems like a funny joke. Remembering that dirty dishes are sitting in the sink and bathroom gunk is waiting to be scrubbed probably sends you beyond your stress comfort level. So how come housekeeping can be a stress-reliever? Well, keep reading and you will find out all about it.

My Personal Experience
A few years ago I would laugh at anyone who would tell me housekeeping made them feel relaxed. To me, sweeping the floor and wiping vigorously the sink felt anything but relaxing. Not to mention, it tired me out. Today, hundreds of cleaning routines after, my opinion on cleaning has changed. I still feel a little overwhelmed knowing I have to do some nasty cleaning jobs, but once I put my mind to it, I’m completely engaged in it.
And to my surprise, some tasks do make me feel relaxed. For example, wiping down takes me away from all the things that have been eating me throughout the day. And when I clean the bathroom, I feel like I have combated a gruesome monster. But most of all, I’m proud of the fact that I have overcome procrastination one more time. Strangely enough, when I’m finished cleaning, it feels as if I’ve done yoga. My mind is free of all the problems that have been torturing me lately; plus my space is clean and neat, which makes me feel invigorated. I can’t think of any friends or family members who thrive in chaos. Most of the people I know love organized, neat and clean living environments, they just don’t always have the time to clean.
Our Tips For You
And now, lets’ get straight to the tips from London cleaners for you. For more information see CleanersLondon page.
1) Approach housekeeping correctly
If you think of housekeeping as nasty, thankless drudgery, chances are you moan and groan every time you have to do housework. It’s all about the right approach here. Turn your cleaning routine into a workout. Knowing that you are doing good to your body will probably make you feel better, you’ll want to scrub and wipe more vigorously than ever. Think of it that way, “Today, I’m going to clean my space of both nasty germs and bad energy as well as engage in physical activity, which will make me stronger and healthier.” Note that exercising generally reduces stress. If you don’t have time to workout, cleaning and decluttering can fill the role. Two birds, one stone.
2) Put on some music
What I always do before I get to the most difficult and mundane cleaning tasks is I put on some cheerful music to get me in the right mood. Generally, it sets my dancing mood, but it still works. If you desire, you can turn on some relaxing music like Zen. Chirping birds are a great pick as well. Just choose whatever makes your heart sing.
3) Focus on keeping messes at bay
For instance, if your kids wreak havoc in the house assign them the responsibility of cleaning the mess once they are done. If you have pets in the house focus on keeping their surroundings clean, wash your dog’s bed, food, and water bowls regularly, as for pet birds clean the parrot’s cages weekly to avoid messes.
Don’t forget that it is clutter that causes stress in the first place. I mean, when you know your place is a mess you aren’t exactly in a rush to get back home. Now isn’t that right? The thought of a messy home drives most people crazy. If you love chaos, then you shouldn’t be reading this article in the first place.
So the best tip is to keep your place neatly organized and decluttered. Make sure to clear all the messes as soon as they happen. Even though you may not like decluttering, you will feel great once you get the job done, especially when you see how lovely your place looks.
4) Embrace cleaning as some sort of meditation
Most of us clean their homes so that they are cleaner and more beautiful. However, the very act of cleaning is a great way to manage stress and achieve inner peace. If you use cleaning as meditation, you can banish all worries and woes. Check this out:
Cleaning your windows – it provides more natural light and brightens up the place.
Mopping the floor – it gets you away from all your worries; it helps you to focus on the present where (right now) it all comes down to cleaning your floor, which is a very simple job.
Vacuuming – dust and cobwebs trap positive energy; by vacuuming your home, you eliminate all the bad stuff which clogs your home and mind.
Do you agree with that?
Well, that’s it, my friends. I hope this post helps you to look at house cleaning from a fresh perspective. And let’s hope this puts an end to your cleaning woes once and for all.
