I was delighted when I was asked if I would like to review the Hush Premium Airsprung Mattress on my blog. The reason I was so delighted was because my son was due to go in his own room some time ago but I had kept putting it off as he does still wake some nights and I was worried if he wouldn’t settle without me being in his room that I was going to end up sleeping on the floor. So this came at the perfect time as it meant I could also put a bed in the room along with his cot and I could sleep in the same room if he was unsettled. Much better for my back!
While I was waiting for the mattress to arrive I purchased a bed base and bedding, in the same style as his bedroom is so that I could also transition him to a bed when he was a little older.
The mattress arrived really quickly, it was a single mattress as that is what I had asked for and it was in a box which was about a meter high and about 30cm wide. The box was solid and it seemed the mattress was packed well and wasn’t trying to pop out of the box.
We found it much easier to take the mattress up the stairs in the box it came in rather than struggling with an unrolled mattress as we have two flights of stairs and going round the corners prove difficult when lugging big things up there.
Upon opening the box we found that the mattress was packaged very well, with two heavy duty plastic bags tightly wrapping it and after opening those we found another one. I was amazed at home thin the mattress looked in the wrapping.
Once the wrapping was taken off the mattress unrolled by itself and started to gain its thickness and bounciness straight away and within a few minutes in the air it was perfect.
Obviously the best way to get a feel for a mattress is to actually lay on it so once I had made the bed up I had to give it a little test.
It is really really comfortable, so soft but supporting too, I suffer with my back and can honestly say that when I have slept on this mattress, which okay has not been often as my son is sleeping through most nights now, my back has felt so good in the morning, no aches and pains at all. It is like sleeping on a marshmallow.
