Over the spring and summer, most of us look forward to spending more time in our gardens. We’re keen to get out and enjoy the sunshine. We look forward to days with our kids splashing around in the paddling pool or afternoons reading a book in the sunshine. You may long for warm evenings entertaining friends in your garden, or that first glass of wine in the early evening sunshine. There’s something so wonderfully relaxing about being outdoors, and having your own private garden space can make summers far more enjoyable.
But, that doesn’t mean that we are all good gardeners. Some of us, as much as we love to be outdoors, and enjoy the benefits of an attractive and well-kept garden, couldn’t keep a plant alive and can never quite get around to mowing the grass.
You may find that you fail to enjoy your garden, because it’s messy and chaotic, and because you always feel like there’s so much to do, and you just don’t enjoy gardening.
Fortunately, not being a keen gardener doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy your outdoor space. It might just mean that you need to find ways to make it easier to manage.

Install Artificial Lawn
Most of us fail to realise just how much work a lawn is until we get our own. In the summer it needs mowing every week. It may also need weeding, feeding and watering, and if you’ve got kids or pets, you are bound to get bald bits no matter how hard you try.
Artificial Grass Installation will look great, make your garden easier to manage, and means that you don’t have to spend every week on lawn maintenance.
Weatherproof Fences and Furniture
If you don’t want to spend a week of every year repainting all of your fences and finding new furniture because yours has rusted, weatherproof it with a simple outdoor wood varnish or mental treatment. These treatments won’t last forever, but they will help your garden to look its best for longer.
Get Into Good Habits
Get into the habit of putting furniture, tools and garden toys away at the end of every day, or at least before it next rains, and you’ll have to worry less about them becoming damaged or dirty.
Stick to Perennials
If you don’t fancy planting new flowers every year, stick to perennials, which won’t die in autumn and flower every year. You may still need to trim them back, but it’s easier than planting new. It’s also worth looking for easy to care for hardy plants.
Keep It Simple
If you want an easy to maintain garden, keep things as simple as possible. Avoid anything too delicate or intricate, and prioritise things like the grass, which get the most use.
An easy to manage garden doesn’t have to be an ugly or boring garden. In fact, there’s often beauty to be found in keeping things simple, and as long as you love it, and happily spend time in it, that is all that matters.
