I was delighted to be asked if I would like to review a dreamgenii pregnancy pillow. I had heard a lot of great things about them and as I found bedtime quite uncomfortable and sometimes painful I wanted to see if it was as good as others had said and with 9 out of 10 women recommending it, it has got to be worth trying it.
It says on the packaging that it is ‘The only pregnancy pillow shaped to promote the health and comfort of you and your baby’.
Here is a little more about the dreamgenii pregnancy pillow;
- It aids a restful sleep.
- Supports your bump, back and knees all at the same time.
- Helps you lay on your left side which is the nest position of you and your baby.
- Prevents you from rolling onto your back while you are asleep.
- Encourages maximum blood flow to mother and baby whilst asleep.
- Helps you to achieve optimal foetal positioning which may lead to a shorter and less painful labour.
- Doubles as a feeding support pillow.
- Is recommended by midwives.
The dreamgenii pregnancy pillow has a centre panel, a back support cushion a bump support cushion which is the long part of the pillow as it also has the leg support.

To use lay it in your bed with the back support cushion on the right side, it has to be below the pillows and in a position of which you normally sleep where your bump would be.
When using make sure you are on your left side with the bump support cushion, cushioning your bump, pull the leg support down and in between your knees.
I sleep in the foetal position during pregnancy, but pre pregnancy I was a front sleeper so I found it quite difficult to stay on my left side and normally ended up on my back which I know is not a good thing.
I have also been having really bad pelvic pain and hips for the last two months or so and before using the dreamgenii it was getting so bad I was dreading bed time and the fact that with the pain I would get barely any sleep at all.
I have been using the pregnancy pillow for about 6 weeks now and I have certainly noticed a difference. I am now sleeping much better, without waking up worrying that I am on my back as they pillow keeps me from turning onto my back. The knee support on the pillow is definitely a god send, I have found I am not in as much pain with my hips and pelvis during the night which means I am getting a much better nights sleep. The only time I do wake up is for my twice nightly toilet trips.
I am really impressed with the dreamgenii pregnancy pillow and it even comes with a leaflet inside the bag which gives postures that may help in the last six weeks of pregnancy so I will definitely be trying them when the time comes.
I will also definitely be using it once my baby boy is here and I am breastfeeding him.
There is a great video that the dreamgenii team have created with a demonstration on how to use the dreamgenii pregnancy pillow in both the left side sleeping position and the right side too, and also how to use the pillow as a breast feeding support pillow.
You can purchase a dreamgenii pregnancy pillow at their website priced at £47.99 and they also have spare covers in different patterns too.
