I was asked if I would like to review some products from Dermalogica, I do love skin care products so gratefully accepted the offer. I received 2 boxes of products which are trial sized and also 4 sachets of products too.
The first box was called Our Favorites and is limited edition. Inside the box is PreCleanse 30ml, Multi-Active Toner 30ml, Skin Hydrating Booster 7ml, Gentle Cream Exfoliant 10ml and SkinPerfect Primer SPF30 7ml.
This is what it says on the back of the box;
Achieve your best skin ever with our favorite travel companions! Hand-picked by the skin health experts at Dermalogica, they’ll help you cleanse, tone, hydrate, exfoliate and prime your way to healthier, glowing skin.
PreCleanse smells exactly like base oil that I use for aromatherapy. It is a deep-cleansing oil and melts impurities and makeup from the skin. You apply this using dry hands onto a dry face, massaging the face as you go, the wet hands and go over it again, it then turns into a white creamy emulsion. Once you have finished just rinse off with warm water and pat the face dry with a soft towel. My skin already felt softer and fresher with only the PreCleanse used.
Multi-Active Toner is a light facial toner that hydrates and refreshes. This comes in a spray pump bottle. All you do with this is after cleansing spray over your face and throat and let it dry.
It dries very quickly, it has a light odour but it is not a horrible scent and it is barely noticeable. It gives a cool feeling on the skin.
Skin Hydrating Booster came in a little dropper bottle, this hydrating fluid concentrate relieves dryness and fine lines. All you do with this is add a few drops to affected dry areas. This is quite a sticky formula but it does soak in and dry very quickly and there is no scent to it.
Gentle Cream Exfoliate is an exfoliating masque that helps improve skin texture. This is a cream coloured masque and you apply an even layer to cleansed skin. You have to leave it on for about 10 – 15 minutes for it to activate and it does cause a little stinging/tingly feeling but it does disappear after a few minutes. Once the time is up rinse off with warm water and pat face dry with a soft towel. It does leave the face feeling smooth.
SkinPerfect Primer is an illuminating makeup prep treatment that brightens and primes your face for a flawless look. This says AgeSmart on the tube and is SPF30. The primer is a light brown in colour and not too thick, more like a toothpaste texture. When applied it gave a sparkly look to my face, I am not sure it smoothed away any fine lines though.
The Skin Detox Set Rescue Me has 3 different products in it, Charcoal Rescue Masque 22ml, Multi-Active Toner 30ml and HydraBlur Primer.
This is what it says on the box;
Pollution, stress and product buildup can lead to dehydration, dullness and congestion. These products rescue skin by removing impurities, accelerating cell turnover and locking in moisture for a bright, healthy glow.
Charcoal Rescue Masque is an all in one treatment masque that detoxifies, brightens and invigorates all skin conditions. Use this after cleansing and apply to the face and throat avoiding the eye area. You then leave it for 7-10 minutes then rinse off. This is a grey thick cream that feels like there are little bits in it.
My face felt so fresh and revitalised after using this, this is definitely one product that I would use again.
HydraBlur Primer. Is a hydrating and smoothing primer which minimises visible fine lines and wrinkles. You can use this under makeup for a smooth base.
I applied this after I had done my cleansing routine, it really does smooth the skin and makes a perfect base for when I did my makeup. It definitely made my makeup look flawless and will definitely get more of this!
The sachets I received were Charcoal Rescue Masque, HydraBlur Primer, Daily Superfoliant and UltraSmoothing Eye Serum.
With the Daily Superfoliant I emptied the sachet into my hand and added some water to make it into a paste. I think massaged it into my face and once I was happy and finished I rinsed off with warm water and patted my face dry with a towel. I love exfoliants anyway as I find my face feels so much better once I have used them. I am very pleased with the results of using this one.
UltraSmoothing Eye Serum does exactly what it says, you just smooth it around the eye area, I did notice a difference and my skin around my eye felt lovely.
Overall I am very impressed with these products, the sample sizes were perfect size for those that are not sure whether they will like the products or not and if they like them they can purchase the full size products from Pure Beauty website.
I would definitely recommend them.
