As my pregnancy progresses I am finding that I am getting more aches and pains, especially in my back, I have a slight curve of my spine anyway but with the extra weight I am carrying sometimes I just don’t know what to do with myself as the pain can be quite debilitating.
I was offered the chance to review a box of Deep Freeze Pain Relief Cold Patch and I couldn’t wait to start trying them.
Inside the box is 12 single use cold patches which are individually packaged, on the front of the box it says – Fast acting, cooling relief from sprains, strains, minor sports injuries, muscle and joint pain.

It did take a while for the backache to be really painful before I decided to use them as I wanted to see just how much relief they would give me at a really painful time.
Once the backache got bad enough I opened one of the patches, they are a white material type patch with a gel substance on the back which sticks to your back. They contain menthol which I could instantly smell as soon as the packet was open. The patches quite big so covers quite a large area.
I placed it on the most painful area which was the right side of my lower back and left it to do its work. My skin felt quite tingly and started to get cold quite quickly. It felt almost the same as putting an ice pack on the area. I left it on for about an hour (only because I have reactions to some plasters) and once I had removed it I was surprised that I could not feel the pain anymore, I think it numbed the area. It did last for a few hours which gave me a lot of relief and it wasn’t as bad once it had worn off either.
I would definitely recommend these for backache in pregnancy and even when not pregnant they definitely work for me.
