Is less more? Well, when it comes to workouts, it could be!
There’s a plethora of new science that seems to suggest that it is not about how long you train that matters, but how intensely you do it. Researchers think that exercise is good for you because it signals to your body that it needs to adapt and adjust to new stressors. So long as you pound it hard enough, you’ll get the effects.
Then, there’s also the fact that you don’t want to spend hours fussing about, doing exercises. You have other things that you want to be getting on with. Spending sixty minutes at the gym, diligently following a workout plan isn’t possible for most of us.
Workout #1: Jumping Jacks
Jumping jacks are one of the most potent ways to get fit fast.
The idea here is to do several sets of 10, 15 or 20 (corresponding to your fitness level), and then repeat four or five times. You’ll find that the first few feel relatively easy, but by the end of the workout, you’ll be sweating and feeling as if you’ve had a proper exercise.
Performing a jumping jack is easy.
First, start in the press-up position. Do a press-up and then launch into the air by pushing through the balls of your feet. Then get back down into the press-up position and start again. If you can’t do a regular press-up, rest your weight on your knees instead. Don’t worry; you’ll still get fit and tone up!
Workout #2: Star Jumps With Pull-Ups
Next is star jumps with pull-ups. The reason that this is a good quick workout is that it combines two of your body’s energy-generating mechanisms. You’re using both your cardio system and the sugar in your muscle cells. Researchers think that using both at the same time has a greater effect on your overall fitness and health than just one at a time.
Star jumps are easy, but you may need some home gym equipment to do the pull-ups.
Start by doing a minute of vigorous star jumps. Then, immediately move to do pull-ups for thirty seconds, and then move back to star jumps.
If you can’t do pull-ups unassisted, you can use rubber bands to take some of the load. Or you can get a pull-up machine with a supporting tray.
Workout #3: Sprints

Sprinters tend to have robust, powerful, athletic physiques. Many of us would like to look more like them!
Much of their strength and fitness comes from their choice of sport. Sprinting is an excellent way to get fit fast. What’s more, doing sprints is easy, even if you’re quarantined.
Start in the sprinting position and then run hard for about twenty seconds until you can feel your muscles becoming depleting. Stop, then rest for forty seconds before repeating four more times.
It doesn’t sound like much, but after exerting yourself as hard as you can, you’ll feel as if you’ve had a proper workout. Try it for yourself.
