Open floor plans are one of the top things on the list of people when it comes to people looking for a home to buy. Perspective homeowners are much more likely to buy a home that has some open plan living; it is a really popular choice. Having a formal dining room is also another space that is going out of style, though a dining table is still a must. But can you get open-plan living without knocking down some walls? What you could do is something as simple as getting rid of any bulkier furniture or just shifting the furniture around to create a different look.
Change Flooring
Flooring is something that can make a difference to a home without having to change too much of lift a paintbrush. You might want to opt for some engineered wood flooring which is popular at the moment, and it makes it easy to clean and look after. You could also go for a new carpet or rug, depending on what room you are looking to change.
New Lighting
Proper lighting in the home can really brighten up a room. It can take a poorly lit room into something bright and light, that is open and airy. There are a number of ways that you can brighten up your home with lighting. Some of the easier things to do can be as simple as buying table lamps or adding in some floor lamps for the room. If you want to strategically place some tall floor lamps in the darker corners then it lifts the room a lot. Then you can layer it all up with table lamps as well as sidelights.
Landscape Your Garden
Landscaping is something that can often be overlooked. We can plant a few things and then we are done and dusted. But curb appeal, especially if you are thinking of selling your home, is really important. It can be simple to create flower beds, raised flower beds, and plant more trees and plants than you might think. Think about layering it all up, though, with shrubs at the front, with taller plants and planters behind. With some time, it will be a brilliantly landscaped garden.
