What child wouldn’t love to have a puppy? Well, I think most would but not everyone has the time to look after a real puppy so the next best thing, well isn’t it obvious? A Teksta 360 Puppy.
We received a Teksta 360 Puppy to review and were so excited to see what it can do. So what is Teksta 360 Puppy? It is a real robotic friend who will walk, bark, beg, cry, shows emotions and even does a 360 backflip. It can also be programmed to do tricks because of it’s artificial intelligence program, it will let you know how it is feeling or how well it is being cared for by its barks, whines, light-up collar and changing eye flashing patterns. It knows how long since you have last played with or chatted to it so basically it acts like an 8-week old puppy because that is how it was programmed.
The first thing you need to do when you take the puppy out of the box is put batteries in it, they are not supplied and it needs 4 x AAA ones and you must read the instructions else it may take you a while to find out how to switch it on like it did us!
As soon as we turned the Teksta 360 puppy on it started running, almost off the table so we quickly decided it may be better for us to place it on the floor. Now the main thing this little pup needs is attention, like any puppy, you need to chat with it and pet it by pressing either of the buttons on the top of its head.
It goes to sleep if it is left alone giving little snores then its eyes will turn off. It is easy to wake it up too, just by pressing either button on the top of its head.
You can even program specific tricks by using the conversation mode and also set it to funny noise mode where you talk to the puppy and when you stop it makes a random funny noise and obviously there is the special mode of getting the Teksta 360 puppy to do the 360 backflips which is pretty cool.
We have tried the app several times and most of the time the kids get bored of waiting for it to scan, sometimes it does it straight away and sometimes you can be there for a long while and then it still doesn’t do it. Not good when your pup is hungry or sick. I think the app needs to be more sensitive so it finds the pup quicker but also we found when dressing the pup the hat and boots would not look like they are even on it, they kind of float.
Hopefully, the app will get an update and it will work better, but we did have fun with it anyway, especially earning points, although we are not sure what they are for yet. Watching the health bars go up when feeding, cleaning and making sure it is totally healthy and I am sure once we get the knack of it, it will get easier.
My children are teaching it tricks at the moment although they are not getting very far as they talk to the pup and he starts barking and running lol. They do love the backflip trick though.
We have only really touched the surface of this incredible little robotic pup but it is certainly keeping the children amused. It would definitely make a child or even adult happy if they received this as a Christmas present.
