Special K Granola Review & Giveaway

I have never tried granola cereal before I have seen various different brands in the shop but as I rarely eat breakfast we usually buy a cereal the kids like and that is it. I was asked if I’d like to try Special K Granola and I has to agree as the images I had seen looked really tempting and perhaps this would make me want to eat breakfast more.

I received a pouch of Special K Granola with cranberries, pumpkin seeds and almonds and Special K Granola  with raisins and red apples. Plus a tote bag and tea towel

Special K granola is made with 5 whole grains (wheat,rye, barley, oats  and spelt), is high in fibre, a source of 6 B vitamins and iron and is 30% less far that the average fat content of other granola cereals.

I like the pouches as they can be resealed meaning it keeps the cereal fresh, they also do not take up much room on the cereal shelf but they are still the same weight of a regular box of cereal.

I  decided to try the Special K granola the next morning an chose to have the raisins and red apples one.

It looked lovely as I poured the cereal into my bowl and added some milk.

I loved the taste of it as it is not bland, the red apples and raisins make it taste delicious and I felt very satiated afterwards. In fact it kept me going to lunchtime and I never felt hungry between breakfast and lunch.

The next morning I tried the cranberries, pumpkin seeds and almonds. Now I wasn’t sure whether I’d like this as I have never eaten cranberries and I am not too keen on nuts. I thought I would give it a go anyway.

It was actually really nice, the almonds were flaked so they were not too intense and the cranberries were delicious. This is something I probably would never have picked up for breakfast for me in the past, mainly as I wouldn’t want to spend money on something I may not like. I am glad that I tried it and I will definitely be getting it again.

Both of the Special K granola’s were delicious and two pouches lasted about two weeks.

They cost around £2.99 per pouch and are available at supermarkets now.

    They look interesting and sound tasty, but as a diabetic I’m especially interested in the cranberry one as it has low sugar content.
