A few months ago my daughter Tiff told me that she and her boyfriend would like a baby in the near future, I was thrilled. A little while after (I can’t remember exactly how long) Tiff just randomly mentioned a symptom, I immediately asked when her period was due, tomorrow, okay then here’s a test go do it!!!
A few minutes later she came down and there were TWO lines on the test! Just like almost every other woman, one test was not enough; we went to the supermarket and got some digital tests.
She had to do one as soon as we got home and…of course, she was definitely pregnant!
I was so immensely happy and excited for her but WOAH I’m going to be a Nannie!
This was at the beginning of May and since then she has asked me to be her birthing partner, I also went with her to her booking in appointment and 12 week scan, although I wasn’t allowed in because of their 1 person silly rule. However, I did get to see the scan picture straight away.
We were so convinced as her symptoms were very much like what mine was with Zander. I treated them to a gender scan at 16 weeks and I got to go too. The baby was on its head, and just was not performing at all, it was so hard to even get a profile shot that Tiff was sent out to walk THREE times but we knew exactly what the baby was just before she was sent for a walk the first time. Tiff, Her partner and I had been studying potty shots for a while so we knew and all said together as we got outside it’s a girl. When we got back into the room, Tiff’s partner was given the plain bag to open and reveal what the baby’s gender was and we were all right…IT’S A GIRL!!
Tiff is almost 20 weeks now, so halfway through; she has so far had a really easy pregnancy, especially being her first baby.
She is slowly growing a little bump now and writing lists on what she needs for the daughter, asking advice and she said the other day after sending me a picture of a baby crowning…” what have I got myself into?” Isn’t that what all women that have been pregnant ask?
