Skye has wanted to make slime for a long time, but like most parents when slime is mentioned we had visions of slime getting stuck in the carpet clothes and all sorts. We were offered the chance to review So Slime DIY Color-Change Slime Shakers from Canal Toys and we decided that it would be a lot less messy than making it from scratch, so of course, said yes.

What’s in the box;
- 3 x Slime Containers
- 3 x Color-Change Slime Powder
- 3 x Glitter/Confetti
- 3 x Surprise Figurines
- Instructions

In just a couple of steps, we would have amazing color-change slime so I let Skye get on with it on her own. She even took the photos.
The first part was to put the slime powder and glitter into the container, fill it with water up to the line.

Next, she put the lid on and shook the container vigorously for 30 seconds. Then she left the lid off the container for a further 5 minutes.

That’s it, done. Once all three are done you can mix the colours and add a figurine in it too if you wish.
One of the pots of slime didn’t quite work but 2 out of 3 is enough.

We found that the colour change was there but not a remarkable change in colour, it is heat sensitive so I would imagine the colours would be better in the cooler weather as they stayed the same colour for us.
In retrospect, if she were to make the same again, I would ask her not to use the glitter, as it transferred from hands to faces to clothes and we had lots of sparkles everywhere. Even Skye got fed up with all the glitter transferring everywhere.
However, apart from that, it was super easy to make, taking just a few minutes and has given hours of fun, even using it as fart putty at one point.
At just £4.99 at Smyths Toys, So Slime DIY Color-Change Slime Shakers is affordable with pocket money and kids will have lots of fun with it.
