I am always interested in trying out new products and as I am pregnant stretch mark products are great to try out. Salcura sent me two products to try, Rose Hip & Green Bean Stretch Mark Cream and Gotu Kola & Wild Rose Stretch Mark Oil.
I focused on one area per product. As you know it isn’t just your belly that is prone to stretch when pregnant, legs, arms and breasts can also stretch. I decided to use the Stretch Mark Cream on my breasts and the Stretch Mark Oil on my tummy.
This is what it says on the box of the Rose Hip & Green Bean Stretch Mark Cream – Light yet nourishing moisturising cream with delicate cucumber scent.
Green bean extract reduces the visibility of stretch marks by 72%.
Instructions are to apply liberally twice daily for 4 weeks and then once daily thereafter.
This comes in a good size pot 85ml. Which means there is a lot of cream which will last a long while. The cream itself is white that is not too runny but also not too thick either.
It smells really nice and it soaks into the skin very quickly.
Focusing this product on just my breast area I massaged the cream into my skin twice daily as directed.
I have not used the product for a whole 4 weeks yet and luckily I have no extra stretch marks appearing either. My skin is left feeling lovely and soft and the cream leaves no residue.
I used the Gotu Kola & Wild Rose Stretch Mark Oil on my tummy. This is what it says on the box – Smooth nourishing dry body oil with neutral scent.
Gotu Kola visibly reduces scarring and stretch marks.
Instructions are to apply twice daily for 56 days, massaging well into clean, dry skin and the once daily thereafter.
This comes in a 30ml glass bottle with pipette to dispense the oil. As it is an oil I was worried it would leave my skin quite oily after use however this was not the case. I have been applying this to my tummy morning and night for about 3 weeks now, adding just a few drops covers a vast area. I massage it into my skin and after about 3 minutes the oil has complete gone from the skin. At first it gets a bit sticky but just for a minute or two then it leaves my skin feeling really nice and soft.
Have I noticed a difference in my stretch marks? Well I had noticed old stretch marks were looking redder before using this but they seem to not be red any more. I have not had any new stretch marks appear yet either and I am hoping that with continued use of the Stretch Mark Oil that I will not get any more.
I would say that this has to be by far my favourite stretch mark product to date, I love how little I need to use, how it doesn’t leave an oily sheen on the skin and how soft my skin feels after applying.
I would definitely recommend it.
Both of these products are available to purchase on the Salcura website priced at £19.99 for the cream and £16.99 for the oil.
