We were offered the chance to review the Puro Quiet over ear noise cancelling volume limiting headphones and I thought they would be perfect for my son, he is currently being assessed for ASD and finds it hard to focus on things if there is a lot of noise around him. He also has meltdowns when he hears very loud noises like drills, alarms and other loud things.
He has only just started using a tablet recently but will only use it if it is quiet in the home so I thought these headphones would keep him occupied for a little while longer than a couple of minutes which is his usual limit before noises start annoying or distracting him.

The headphones we received are a metallic blue colour, they are also available in grey and pink.
There is an L and R on the inside of the ear parts so you know which way to put them on, the ear defender parts are soft and padded. The head part is fully padded and as I have a small head, have tested them myself and they are very comfortable to wear even after an hour!
On the left side ear, there are several buttons they control the Bluetooth parting, the power on/off switch and volume up and down buttons. On the right side ear, there is another switch this controls the active noise cancelling (ANC) on and off.
The ANC switch mutes the outside world which is what we needed for my son, we have made sure we take his tablet and headphones out with us or put it on at home when we know that there may be loud noises that will usually upset him.
My husband needed to drill something which would usually send him in a meltdown covering his ears and crying, looking absolutely terrified, I put the earphones on him, put the tablet on to his favourite show and switched the ANC on. He didn’t bat an eyelid. Result!
These earphones make daily noise and background sounds of up to 22dB quieter complemented by 82% ambient noise isolation. The maximum volume is 85dB which gives safe sound listening levels.
They are wireless so perfect for children that want to move freely or just to stop them getting tangled in wires.
Pairing them with devices was so quick and easy it took less than a minute and they have a range of up to 32 feet, we haven’t actually tested this though.
The battery life is fantastic, I have my own wireless Bluetooth headphones and the battery life is inferior compared to the Puro Quiet ones which offer up to 22 hours of non-ANC playtime or 16 hours with ANC but besides that, they have a 200 hour standby time. When charging them there is a light indicator, the red light means they are charging and blue means they are fully charged. They take around 3 hours to charge fully. I do this when my son is in bed so we have them to hand at every opportunity during the day time.
We have been testing these for a while now and they really are a godsend, they have been thrown around because what else would someone having a meltdown do that throw something at their mum *rolls eyes*, but they are still in one piece, they are very well made and sturdy and they have helped him so much with not hearing loud sounds and keeping him calm, and quiet (well for at least 15 minutes anyway lol)
I would definitely recommend them. I cannot imagine life without them now; they have made our life a little easier.
