Bathrobes are what I would call an essential for me, I use them when I get out of the bath or shower after drying myself with a towel when I get up in the middle of the night and sometimes just to lounge in with my pyjamas during the day. As you can tell, I wear them a lot and I do tend to leave them until their threadbare before replacing them.
I was sent a Mosaic Coloured Cotton Velour Spa Bathrobe from Vision Linen which is made from 100% cotton terry towelling velour. It is available in three colours, Chocolate Brown, Mid Brown and Ecru, I received a Mid Brown one.
When in its packaging it felt quite heavy, although it looked quite lightweight, okay so I have never been to a spa and the hotel bathrobes were not like this the last time I stayed or worked in one.
On the outside it had a lovely velour feel to it and looked like a waffle effect, it felt nice and soft, and inside it had a kind of the waffle effect from the outside was reversed, it looked a bit rougher, more like a towel, however, the feel was again nice and soft.
When I tried it on I was surprised at the weight of it, it wasn’t lightweight, but it also wasn’t heavy, it was the perfect weight for me, and it was so comfortable and warm. As it is a one size bathrobe I was worried that it wouldn’t fit me as I am curvy, however, it states L on the label and it fit with room to spare. I liked the length of the bathrobe too, it is calf length, or for me mid-lower calf-length because I am short, the perfect length. The actual size is 130cm x 160cm
The bathrobe has full raglan sleeves, they were nice and loose on the arms and you can turn the cuffs up if the sleeves feel a bit long, I obviously turned mine up. The 100% cotton velour is 380gsm which gives the extra weight. It is from the Luxury Hotel & Spa Collection and you can tell that it is luxury by the way it feels when wearing and just touching it.
I have been lounging around in it a lot lately and absolutely love it, I have washed it and dried it and there has been no colour run although I did put a colour catcher in just in case and drying on delicate setting has not changed its shape or shrunk it.
This bathrobe is unisex so men and women can wear it, the colours are neutral and although I wasn’t keen on the colour to start with, now I really do not care because it is my new best friend to chill in.
