My son is absolutely obsessed with Baby Shark and has been ever since he first saw the song on YouTube a year or more ago so when the opportunity came to review a PinkFong Baby Shark Song Puppet I just had to say yes for him. I knew he would love it!

The PinkFong Baby Shark Song Puppet is produced by WowWee and is available in three different puppets, Baby Shark, Mommy Shark and Daddy Shark. You control the song with your hands by moving the mouth as you do with hand puppets, it has a tempo control, move the mouth fast and the song will go fast, move it slowly and the song will be slow stop and the song will stop. It plays the full Baby Shark song.
The Baby Shark song puppet was a good size and is made with a soft plush fabric so can be cuddled. Thankfully had batteries included so Zander could play with it straight away, the batteries can be changed, just open the Velcro at the back and replace them, you need 2 x LR44 button cells.

I had one excited little boy when it arrived and of course, he wanted it immediately, I showed him how to move the mouth with his hands but he did struggle. It is quite difficult to move the puppet’s mouth with your hands at a pace that the Baby Shark song plays properly. It does play the full song though if you can manage to open and close the mouth for the entire song. The tempo control is good as it makes the song go very fast or very slow depending on how fast or slow you are moving the mouth.
I am not going to lie, Zander did struggle with it and many times when he was moving the mouth went so slow that the song stopped, and then once he started it again it would start the song at the very beginning.

We did find a way to make it work without moving the mouth with his hands though, the tempo control button is inside the mouth but on the outer side if you press that you can get through the whole song without having to work the mouth.
I would say that he prefers to cuddle Baby Shark rather than working the mouth. Maybe it is due to his learning difficulties or he’s just a bit too young for it yet, even though it does state suitable for 3 years and over.
Overall I think any child that likes the Baby Shark song will love it but the younger children may struggle with moving the mouth. I think it would be better if there was an option to just play the song too.
