I already have a baby grooming kit but I didn’t really like the nail scissors that were in it and so I thought this one may be a little better.
The first thing that stood out to me was the colour, I love purple and this kit is black and purple. The kit is in a black zipped case with the Now Born logo on the bottom.
Inside the case is a comb, brush, toothbrush, nail clippers, nail scissors, nail file and silicone finger toothbrush.
As soon as it arrived I was able to try the scissors out as my son needed his nails cutting. The scissors have the bulb at the bottom of the blades for safety but I found they were a lot less thick than the others I have which means that I could cut my sons nails a bit shorter and it seemed quicker as I could get more off at once instead of cutting the same nail at least twice before it was short enough. It made cutting his nails a lot easier and quicker and it was less stressful for him. The scissors are light to hold too.
I have not used the comb, brush, or toothbrushes yet as he has barely any hair and his teeth have not come through yet.
The nail file is a good size for me to hold and position onto my sons nails to get rid of any sharp bits that may be lurking. He actually likes his nails filed so it is less of a struggle than cutting them. On the back of the nail file is a raised part in the middle which I found getting those sharp corners of the nails easier.
The nail clippers have a casing which means you cannot go any further down than where the finger hits the case. I have tried these but I am not getting on with them very well just now, it may be easier when my son is a little older though.
