Morrison’s have just launched their new kids clothing range Nutmeg and we were sent an outfit from the Back To School range for my daughter plus some colouring pencils, a handwriting pen and maths set.
Out of the range we were sent socks, girls blue polo shirts, a grey woven skirt, a navy cardigan and plimsolls.
My first thoughts when looking and feeling them were what great quality they seem to be.
All of the clothing has labels with spaces where you can write your child’s name and class on.
Here is my daughter wearing her new uniform.
The cardigan is navy blue with a slight puff to the top of the sleeves. It is a v-neck cardigan with five buttons. There is a spare button supplied on the label on the inside left seam.
My daughter found this easy to do up and undo as needed as the button holes are slightly bigger than the buttons so they slid in easy. I found by feeling it that it feels soft. There is also no irritating labels at the back of the neck that I usually have to cut out. The Cardigan has a slight stretch to it and is made with 100% cotton. This is a great price at just £3.
The pack of blue polo shirts were a pack of two. They have a scalloped collar and there are 3 daisy buttons which looks pretty and girly which I like. A spare button is in the inside left seam just in case one falls off and gets lost. Again there is no label at the neck, a huge plus point in my eyes. They are reasonable thickness and well sewn. There is a slight stretch to the shirts. The shirts are made from 100% cotton. Again they are a great price at just £2 for a pack of 2 polo shirts.
The skirt is grey with pleats at the front. It has an adjustable waistband with good stretch of elastic in it. It has advanced dual action DuPont Teflon fabric protector in it which repels spills and releases ground in stains easily. The skirt is made from 65% polyester and 35% viscose. Another great priced item costing just £3.
All of the clothing are machine washable and tumble dryer safe.
The Plimsolls are canvas with rubber soles and edging. On the soles they have great gripping tread. These are slip-on plimsolls and there is elastic on both the left and right side. The insole is soft and there is a place to write name and class inside. They are really easy to put on as they just slip on. They are also £3
The socks are white ankle socks with frills so look pretty for girls, there is a bit of stretch to them and they are quite thick. They cost £1.
We were also sent a Berol by Papermate Handwriting cartridge pen, this obviously will not be used just yet as she needs to learn to use a normal handwriting pen first but I will be putting this away for when she does need it. The pack contains 1 cartridge pen and 2 cartridges. It has a medium nib and has a comfort grip which reduces calluses on the middle finger. This costs £2.
We also received an 8 piece Maths set which includes a pencil, rubber, sharpener, compass, ruler, protractor, a 45 and a 60 degree set square. All of this comes in a plastic case that can be used to keep it all together. This costs just £1.
Finally we had a box of 10 colouring pencils, in colour black, navy, purple, brown, light blue, green yellow, orange, pink and red. These are great for smaller hands as they are smaller in length. These will be a great addition to my daughters pencil case. These are very good value for money at just 35p!
We have recently had a Morrisons’ store open up near us and I will admit I love shopping in there and now that they have the Nugmeg children’s clothing which I think is great quality and great value stationary I will be visiting to get more clothing and stationary for my daughter.
