We have recently had a heatwave and what better way to cool down by having ice lollies. We were sent KitchenCraft Let’s Make Umbrella Ice Lolly Moulds from WayFair. They are really easy to make, just pour in your choice of juice, blended or liquidized fruit and pop in the freezer and a few hours later you have ice lollies.
The reason I like ice lolly moulds is because yes supermarkets sell ice lollies however I think they are pretty expensive when not on some kind of offer where as if we make them ourselves, we have an unlimited supply of ice lollies and we can make them out of drinks or fruit we already have in the house.
As soon as they came I washed them and asked the children what flavour ice lollies they would like. They chose orange so I made up some orange squash and poured the juice into the umbrellas.
Now these are quite tricky the holder does not stay up so we had to wedge it in the freezer basket and the umbrella lolly mould were put in at an angle wedged into the basket holes at the bottom. Once they were wedged firmly in place they didn’t fall over thankfully.
A few hours later we had ice lollies much to my daughters delight. Because each umbrella is a different colour mould she took ages choosing which colour she wanted. Finally she chose and was very happy.
My opinion about the Let’s Make Umbrella Lolly Moulds is nice bright colours, which kids love, a money saver but poor design as the holder is at the top and it slips down as the umbrellas are pointed.
Available to purchase at Wayfair.
