February’s Degustabox arrived at our door and I obviously had to open it straight away as I love to see what surprises are in there.
If you have not heard of Degustabox before, it is a monthly subscription box full of food and drinks to try and most of the products are full size products.
This is what we received in the box;
True Nopal Cactus Water – True Nopal Cactus Water has half the calories of coconut water and has a clean, crisp refreshing and light taste, with berry undertones. It contains no sweeteners, preservatives, sodium, fat and is suitable for vegans and is gluten free. It is priced at £3.49 for 1 litre.
Well to be honest with you I didn’t think I would like this Cactus Water hmm, but I did try it. It tasted like bottle still water with a hint of berries in it and was actually quite nice, who’d have thought? The price is a bit high and is not something I could afford all of the time, but it’s not bad and I would buy it again.
The Protein Ball Co. Cherry & Almond – these are a sweet handful of raw pitted dates, free-range egg white protein, juicy saltanas and sour cherries. It states if you like Cherry Bakewell and wait high protein then these protein balls really are the cherry on the cake. Priced at £1.99.
We received 2 of these, I like Cherry Bakewell’s so gave them a shot. Unfortunately they were horrid, I didn’t like them at all. I gave some to my husband and daughter and they didn’t like them either.
Primrose Kitchen Raw Beetroot and Ginger Muesli – A vital and delicious combination of fresh English beetroot, zingy ginger, British gluten free oats and virgin coconut oil. Balanced with a combination of nuts, seeds and extra love in the form of psyllium husk and chia. Our muesli is handmade and slowly dehydrated at low temperatures to preserve nutrients and flavour. Priced at £4.99
I like pickled beetroot but do not like it dried or cooked so I knew I wouldn’t like this. I did try it but it tasted too earthy for me and then the kick of ginger I just couldn’t eat it.
Dr Karg’s Organic Emmental Cheese & Pumpkin Seed Crispbread – these are organic with wholegrain natural fibre and no additives. A Crispy and crunchy combination of an extra big helping of pumpkin seeds with aromatic, nutty Emmental cheese. Priced at £2.00 per pack.
I was not a fan of these, I knew before I tried them I wouldn’t be as I am not a cheese lover. One bite was enough to determine I didn’t like these. However my daughter who is the complete opposite of me really liked them. I think the price for the amount you get in a pack is quite expensive.
Emily Crisps – are a range of premium fruit and vegetable crisps made from only the finest and freshest produce priced at 99p.
We received the Crunchy Fig Banana, and I did really like these, it is just dried banana, they are crunchy but they also do taste of banana, even my son enjoyed these with me.
Indie Bay Snacks Pretzel Bites – A bit like pretzels but better! Indie Bay Snacks have reinvented the classics with ingredients such as Spelt and Quinoa so they’re crunchier, tastier and better for you. These baked little bites are a delicious source of fibre and protein, and contains fewer than 100 calories per portion. They are priced at £2.49 per bag.
We received Sunflower Pretzel Bites, they tasted just as pretzels do but not in the same shape as they were little balls. They were nice, the whole family enjoyed them.
Tootsie Roll Midgees – These are Authentic American candy, Tootsie Roll chews, have been making the world sweeter since 1896 priced at £2.50
I have heard of Tootsie Roll, they are like a soft toffee but they are quite strong in taste. If you are a lover of strong dark toffee you will love these. I didn’t particularly like the taste, my husband and daughter both did though.
KITKAT Chunky New York Cheesecake – An indulgent layer of creamy New York Cheesecake conbined with a crispy wafer and thick chocolate priced at 65p.
Yes, yes, yes!!! I loved this, I knew just by looking at it I would. It tastes very creamy and cheesecakey (is that even a word) but yes I really liked this and would definitely buy it again!
Haribo Fruitilicious – is an exciting addition to HARIBO’s range. Bursting with fruit flavour, this treat contains 30% less sugar than regular fruit gum sweets and offer the same great taste loved and expected from HARIBO. Fruitilcious features fruit shaped, smiley faced pieces in strawberry, raspberry, pineapple, orange, apple and lemon flavours priced £1.29
These were for the children although I did have a couple just to try them. I have to be honest, I really couldn’t tell there was less sugar in them, they did taste as good as any HARIBO we have had before. The children enjoyed them too.
You can get a huge £5 off your first box which will cost you just £7.99 including delivery by using this code INCVF when registering on the Degustabox website.
