I have never tried maple syrup before, nor have I ever tried pancakes, obviously I have tried the ones you make for Shrove Tuesday but not the breakfast style pancakes that seem all the rage in America so I was excited to try both of these as they were both new to me.
We received Clarks Maple Syrup Pure Canadian and Clarks Maple Syrup Vanilla plus some pancakes to try them with.
As I hadn’t tried pancakes before I was a bit wary of trying them and we always seem to be in a rush so decided to try them at the weekend as a treat for the children and me.
The pancakes were easy enough to do, just pop them in the toaster. Once they popped up I gave us two pancakes each.
Squirted one pancake with the Pure Canadian maple syrup and the other with the vanilla maple syrup and sat at the table to eat them.
Now I can honestly say I am not keen on pancakes, which is surprising because they taste just like cake but for some reason after a couple of pieces I just couldn’t not eat anymore.
However I really liked the maple syrups, both of them. They are sweet can I can see why they compliment pancakes. I found that as both maple syrups were in a squeezable bottle they were easy to pour and get the right amount out. My favourite out of the two was the Vanilla one but they were both equally as nice I just like vanilla flavour as a whole better.
My children didn’t take long to finish their pancakes and their plates were clean within minutes. My oldest daughter preferred the pure Canadian maple syrup but my youngest liked the vanilla one more but she said it tastes even better when both flavours are mixed together.
Although I wouldn’t eat those pancakes again I will definitely be using Clarks Maple syrup them for Shrove Tuesday to go on our regular pancakes. They cost around £1.98 for a 180ml bottle and it lasts for ages. I would definitely buy them in the future.
