When my car got damaged by house debris during the bad winds we had last year I found that it was going to cost more than the car was worth to fix it, we could have got it repaired through the insurance but we had already made a claim a few months beforehand with the first set of winds dragging a trampoline over the fence and damaging the car roof. The insurance company informed us we would lose our no claims if we claimed again and with over 10 years of no claims bonus we decided against it. It had a damaged wing and other things were also starting to go wrong with it, timing chain being replaced for it to start rattling again and it seemed the catalytic convertor was on its last legs too.
I wanted to just get rid of it and get a newer one that worked and in thought it is a good idea but I had no money to pay for a newer car but as we live in a remote village with no public transport a working and reliable car is an essential part of our daily routine as we do not even have a school in the village. Our only choice was trying to get car finance.
I came across Refused Car Finance website which offers car finance to people who have been refused elsewhere so if you have CCJ’s, defaults, are self employed or even if you have had a car repossession in the past they can accept you. In fact they have a 95% acceptance rate which is very high for those with a low poor credit rating and you could get a decision within the hour.
I wish I had seen this website when we were getting our n because it would have saved a lot of hassle going from one car finance company to another trying to get it only to be told no every time. We did eventually get car finance but it was such a stressful experience to find someone that would accept us we almost gave up.
We now have a lovely little Mégane and apart from a couple of minor faults which is to be expected being a second hand car, she is a dream car to drive she hasn’t let us down once and her safety features are fantastic.
