I was sent a box of 80 tea bags which were Birchall Great Rift East Africa’s finest tea Breakfast Blend, plus a selection of herbal teas too and I do like my tea so it wasn’t long before I was making a nice cup of tea with them.
Birchall is an independent tea company and they are proud of their rich heritage and passion for creating perfect blends, reflected in their range of fine teas and infusions.
Their pursuit of perfection has been instilled through five generations of Birchall Graham’s family and continues to be the mantra they live by today. By not compromising on quality at any stage of the creation process they are confident that every single cup of Birchall Tea delivers a sublime tasting experience every time.
At the moment I am not allowed to drink herbal teas for medical reasons so I didn’t try them but the Breakfast Blend was perfect for me.

The teabags are square, which is quite a novelty these days as most teabags are now round.
I made my tea as I would normally make it adding 1 sugar a dash of milk, the teabag and pouring hot water on to it.
I usually leave the teabag in my mug for around three minutes but sometimes longer so it properly blends and I get a good strong tea.
Having not tried these before I did hope that they would give me a strong taste of tea and look like strong tea and not weak and I was not disappointed. The tea was a lovely colour, looked strong, and once it had cooled down a bit I started to drink it. It tasted lovely, what I would call a proper cup of tea with a great flavour and wholesomeness to it. You can definitely notice that it is a quality tea by the taste. I really liked it.
Great Rift costs £4.50 for a box of 80 tea bags, would I buy it? Well to be honest I drink a lot of tea and I am not sure that I would be able to afford to purchase it every week when you can purchase teabags for a lot less, however, it is always handy to have a nice quality tea in the cupboards for when I have visitors.
