I purchased some new duvet sets for my bed recently and finally got around to putting them on the bed. This photo actually makes it look awful, but it is deep black and plum. The reason I hadn’t before is that they do not ‘go’ with the room at all as I have chocolate and magnolia wall colours. I have also been wanting to redecorate my bedroom, nothing spectacular just getting rid of the chocolate colour mainly so all wall are magnolia and then putting maybe one of those wall stickers on the wall. I also want to get a new bed frame I just need one that I like 100% but it has to be black and kind of gothic or old fashioned style.
Anyway the reason I put the new duvet set on was because I am hoping that because it looks so out of place against the chocolate wall that it will give me the kick up the bum I need to redecorate and soon and posting it on my blog will give me even more reason to get it done quickly.

We’ve been renting houses the past 4-5 years and they have all been a shade of beige throughout, so to liven things up we change our cushions, bedding and curtains with each move. This last move from South Africa to Dubai we took the curtains with us which I’d made, they are beige but have bright red voiles as linings, they used to be in our lounge, in our new house they fit the lounge, study and 2 bedrooms so we’ve changed the voile linings this time
