I have been vaping for a while, you may have seen other posts about it on the blog in the past so when I was asked if I’d like to review the new Aspire SkyStar Revvo I did a quick search and to my pleasure the tank was top airflow which I prefer so quickly accepted. I was also sent The Chicken Shop Totally Tropical Ting e-liquid too. I had not used an Aspire mod before so it was going to be interesting on whether I liked it or not.
Here is a little about the SkyStar Revvo Kit;
The SkyStar Revvo kit pairs two of Aspire’s most innovative new products. It is the first mod that takes complicated button pressing patterns away and replaces them with easy to use touchscreen functionality. It comes with a huge 210watts of power.
It comes with a new coil design, the Aspire Radial Coil or ARC. This maximised the surface area of the coil to the e-liquid to provide the best possible flavour and vapour. It also has an innovative new filling system which is quick and easy to use.
Inside the box;
2ml Revolution tank
2 x Coils (0.10-0.16ohm)
10 x O-rings
Protective silicone cap
The only thing the kit does not include is 2 x 18650 batteries which are needed, luckily as I already have mods that use these batteries I had a spare fully charged pair ready to go. You can pick these up relatively cheap however do your research before buying the first ones you come to as some can be dodgy.
The Aspire SkyStar Revvo Kit is available in Wood, Slate Blue, Black Carbon and White designs, we received the Slate Blue Design.
The first thing I noticed when I received the Aspire SkyStar Revvo Kit was that it was lighter than my Tesla Nano and Smok Pro Color mods. Not by much but I could definitely notice the difference.
I found the touch screen a bit temperamental while setting it up, it didn’t seem to register my swipes at first but after some perseverance it did work, it may be because it is such a small screen or that it will get better with time once there are updated available.
The menu on the touch screen were modes, data, system, time and about.
The MODE screen shows another set of options WATT, VOLTAGE, BYPASS, TC and CPS which you can change the wattage etc to your preferred settings. In TC you can select to attach a new atomizer.
Everything else on there I didn’t really need to mess about with.
The Time option allows you to put the time and date into the mod and choose whether you want it to display as analogue or digital. I prefer the analogue setting.
On the about screen it shows a Q&R Code.
The mod has some fab features including over discharge protection, short circuit protection, overheating protection and overcharging protection and you can upgrade/update the firmware.
The micro USB cable allows you to plug your mod into a computer so you can do your upgrades but also charge your batteries inside the mod without having to remove the batteries.
The fire button is at the front of the mod, right above the touch screen, if I hadn’t have looked at the instruction manual beforehand I would have missed it completely as it isn’t noticeable at first sight. I find having it there is a nice touch as the way I hold it I can do it instantly and it is very easy to fire. It doesn’t feel awkward to use.
Now the tank has a top adjustable airflow which like I said I prefer as I do have problems with bottom airflow tanks leaking a lot.
This tank is also extremely easy to fill. It is top fill, there is a small filling hole right in the centre, you can even use gorilla bottles on it. You just put the nozzle on the spring loaded filling tube, press it down with minimal pressure and squeeze the bottle until the tank is filled.
Another thing that I like is the tank sits central on the mod.
The coils are different from others I have seen as they are disc shaped, they are ARC (Aspire Radial Coil) and are around £7.99 for 3, which is an average price.
It also comes with a silicone cap which not only protects the glass on the tank if knocked but if the mod does get knocked on its side it’s not going to drip everywhere.
The Aspire SkyStar Revvo Kit gives nice clouds but also a nice flavour ratio, I am very impressed with this and it is now my most used mod.
The kit is priced at £74.99 and is available from the E Cigarette Direct website.
The other product we received with this was The Chicken Shop Totally Tropical Ting e-liquid. I really like the colourful box that this comes in. Inside the box is 1 x 200ml (gorilla bottle) of Totally Tropical Ting 0mg and 2 empty 60ml bottles with nozzles to make transportation easier.
Ingredients are; Vegetable Glycerin (<70%), Propylene Glycol (<30%), Natural and Artificial flavours.
The actual flavour of this e-liquid is a blend of mango, blackcurrant and tropical fruit ice.
From vaping this I get an immediate ice blast, kind of menthol and then the mango/tropical flavour with a mix of blackcurrant. It is really nice and for me is a definitely every day vape for me.
If you enjoy vaping tropical or fruity flavours you will love this!
This e-liquid package is priced at £29.99 and again available from the E Cigarette Direct website.
I am giving away an Aspire SkyStar Revvo Kit AND The Chicken Shop Totally Tropical Ting to one lucky person.
