I know I was going to do this monthly but I have had a very grumpy little boy for the past few weeks so this update includes everything that has happened since the last update so from 17 weeks – 26 weeks which he is now.
So first we did start weaning Zander at just over 17 weeks old, tut tut to us but he was so ready and took to it instantly. We started off with baby porridge one meal a day but doing it between his bottles so he wasn’t dropping any milk.
The mucky little pup had either blown a raspberry or sneezed on this photo.
He is now on two meals a day and we found he doesn’t like savoury food from the jars but eats most of what I make up and freeze for him. He does not like parsnip.
We are going to try him on more lumpy foods shortly. He did try a banana in a Nuby The Nibbler yesterday and he seemed fine eating it like that.
We are also reviewing some baby foods at the moment from Piccolo so look out for that in the next week or so.
After the worrying hospital visit I can gladly tell you that he has had no more fits so looks like it was just one of those random things.
I really have no idea what he weighs as we can only get him weighed once a month and we missed last month. I would guess he is around 18 and a half – 19lb.
I have bought a few more baby wraps as he still likes to be in them and a Tula carrier. I will get some decent photos of him in them soon, but here is one to start with. I have spent a fortune on baby wraps and I still keep looking out for more eek.
Zander’s bedtime routine went out of whack for a few weeks and he was waking up every few hours for a bottle, I must say that after he started sleeping so well it was a shock to the system. Thankfully he is sleeping from around 6pm every night until around 5am, he even shocked me one morning by not waking until 6:45am. Sometimes he gets a bit restless in the night but I pop his dummy back in and he goes back off with no trouble.
He has learnt to roll from back to front, he is doing it with ease now, he also manages to lay in his cot properly and then 5 minutes later he will be laying sideways with his legs hanging out of the cot.
He can sit up unsupported for about a minute before he folds in half but he is getting stronger by the day and I don’t think it will be long before he can do it properly.
He has been quite the grump with his gums playing up for ages now but on the 22nd November exactly 6 months old a tooth had surfaced and this morning when I checked it out the one beside it is through too.
He gets bored with things very easily and so we are forever trying to find new ways to entertain him and he can take his dummy out of his mouth and put it back in now.
He has also learnt to blow raspberries, which makes the dribble flow even more, and he is still a little chatterbox although no real words as yet.
I think that sums up about all that has happened.
I will be posting the 7 month update the week after Christmas day. First Christmas, can’t wait!
