Soreen is very popular in our house, everyone loves Soreen but we hadn’t tried the Cinnamon and Raisin loaf so this was a new test for us. Would we like it as much as the other flavours in the Soreen range?
I was told it was perfect as a healthier alternative to Christmas pudding although I do not like Christmas pudding so I was worried I wouldn’t actually like it if it tasted similar.
It looked like the normal Soreen we all love when I took it out of the packet although the smell was lovely. I could really smell the cinnamon in it. It wasn’t an overpowering smell it was really pleasant.
We all had a slice and it was moist and there was a hint of cinnamon but it didn’t taste like Christmas pudding it was much better in my opinion.
The packet made my laugh when reading it. It said…
Squeeze me. Come on, don’t be shy.
There. Feel that? That’s squidgy power that is. Deliciously chewy fruitiness bursting with energy to help keep you fuelled up and ready for action. But don’t take my squidginess too literally – I’m low in saturated fat too.
It is indeed low in saturated fat with less than 1.5%.
There is also a How to enjoy me tip of toasting Soreen under the grill, pile it with jam, top it with cheese or just eat it as it comes. Well I actually had never thought of toasting it, or putting jam or cheese on top of it. I usually add a thin covering of low fat spread on it and devour it.
Soreen Cinnamon and Raisin loaf is delicious and is a firm favourite in this house now. Along with all the other varieties.
It is available from Asda, Tesco and Morrisons nationwide RSP £1.29

We haven’t tried this in our house yet because I haven’t been able to find it but I’m keeping my eyes open. Until I was working for my previous boss I’d never had soreen toasted before either and was a little dubious about it but it’s so yummy I’m not sure how I managed without it xXx
