I have been using the Lunette Menstrual Cup for about three cycles now. You will notice that most of my menstrual cup reviews will be based on at least three months of use, this is because I feel I can give them a better review as we all know that sometimes periods can be different from month to month and the cervix moves around so what might have worked well during one period may not necessarily work quite as well the second or third.

The Lunette is packaged in a small box with a white sleeve and brand name on the sleeve. When the sleeve is removed there is just a lovely dark box with orange Lunette flower symbols on with no writing. Inside the box is the Lunette Model 2 menstrual cup and a lovely yellow satin bag with drawstrings.
The cup and rim of the cup are quite firm but not too firm that you can feel it inside you and not too firm that is uncomfortable.
As I said I have been using it for three periods and apart from initially having an issue with the stem which was a little uncomfortable so I trimmed it I have had no problems.
I used the punch down fold to insert the cup and it popped open very quickly and was really easy to insert.
I have had no leaking using this cup at all. In fact I have noticed that since my first use of menstrual cups that my flow is now even lighter.
I found it easy to remove the cup when I needed too and I only needed to empty it twice a day, I could quite easily changed it once a day though as it was not even half full both times it got changed. I think I change it as I am still slightly paranoid that it will overflow due to the amount of times I leaked using tampons in the past.
I rinse the cup under the cold tap every time I remove it, making sure all residue has been washed off before reusing it.
I like the Lunette a lot, the only thing I would criticise is the stem, it could have been made softer, but since trimming it I haven’t had any problems with it.
It is really easy to clean.

My periods used to start randomly during the day, now they start the same time of day every month. My cycles are more regular, instead of having between 28 day cycles – 38 day cycles so basically I had to guess when my period would be here but now they are 29-31 days every month. My luteal phase has also lengthened from 11-12 days which was a bit short and now it is 14 days every month. I also get to sleep throughout the night without having to wake up to change every few hours.
These are great benefits for me in particular.
I also do not cramp as much as I used to, yes I still get a bit crampy when my period is starting and for the first day but no where near as bad as pre menstrual cups.
The Lunette Menstrual cup is available in two sizes;
Model 1 is for light to moderate flow it’s designed for young women or teens. Made with a softer medical grade silicone. 0.85 fl oz volume and has a long 1 inch stem. Diameter is 1.6 inches, length 1.9 inches.
Model 2 is for normal to heavy flows is suitable for adult women who have given birth vaginally. it is made from a firmer medical grade silicone than Model 1. It has a 1fl oz volume and a shorter 0.8 inch stem. Diameter 1.8 inches, length 2 inches.
The Lunette is available in Classic Clear, Cynthia which is purple in colour, Aine which is coral red, Lucia is yellow, Selene is blue and Diana is light green.
The Lunette can be worn continuously for up to 12 hours at a time, it is odourless, it is economically and ecologically friendly. One Lunette cup will last for years. It is a healthier alternative to disposable pads and tampons.
I would recommend the Lunette menstrual cup to anyone wanting to try menstrual cups or those that are seeking a new one.

Disclosure: I received a Lunette Menstrual Cup for free for review purposes. All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.
I love the Lunette Cup, better than many of the other options in fact. It’s a great cup that fits well and doesn’t leak, as well as cleaning up super easily. Thanks for spreading the word about it.
