When looking for gifts I like to look online and search for gifts that are unique or different from the norm and a lot of brilliant gifts are only available in the city which is miles away from me and I have no way of getting there. This is where StreetHub comes in, it is a network of independent homeware and fashion boutiques based in London. Many of the boutiques deliver all across the UK and some of the boutiques even offer a shutl service for those living within a 7 mile radius of the boutique. As I live in the middle on no where and quite far from London but love the boutiques are only in London I found this a fantastic website. I can literally find a gift for anyone on it, the prices range from as little as 50p right up to £5040.
As the boutiques change stock so does the stock on the website.
The website is easy to browse and you can choose from a number of options for instance searching to products on sale, and those that are available for UK wide shipping.
I chose Moulin Roty A La Maison Sewing Kit from the site which was available from the 100 Acres boutique.
This looks very swish with the retro carry case that has a sturdy clasp on it and carry handle.
There is a card with poppers so it can be attached to the inside top of the case, on this card there is a tape measure, scissors, 4.00mm crochet hook, 4 mini buttons, thimble, 3 reels of different coloured thread, 4 cards of thicker thread, a french knitting dolly. In the main part of the case is a packet of sewing needles, a pair of 4.0 mm knitting needles (child size) and 5 different coloured wools. There is also a paper sewing sampler.
My daughter always asks if she can learn to knit when I am knitting something but she finds the full size needles I have too difficult for her so these were just what she needed to learn with and she seems to be picking it up really well now, she also loves the French knitting dolly and making her long ‘worm’. This has given her lots of entertainment and as she loves to make things she is never bored learning. I love it too as it is something she can teach to her children one day too.
I like the Moulin Roty Sewing Kit because although it is designed for children ages 6 years and up and my daughter uses it a lot, I needed something nice to keep all of my sewing and knitting bits in as they were kept in a small little broken box beforehand so my daughter and me are sharing this box now.
After having another browse on StreetHub earlier I have now found the perfect gift for someone else and will be purchasing it in the next few weeks.
