Redecorating a room is not as easy as it sounds, for me there is a lot of planning that is involved too and saving up so I can pay for the things I need too.
I am wanting to re do my living room, I really am not feeling the love for it at the moment and although I know my husband will not let me do it just yet I can still make plans for it.
I do like the magnolia and black theme I have now on the walls and the units, curtains etc but my first stop will definitely be changing the flooring.
We have carpet at the moment, it is a hard wearing one but I just don’t like it. I want something that will be easy to clean up spills. I have been looking at laminate flooring for a long while and I just love oak flooring, it looks lovely, but doesn’t look fake like some floorings too. So that would be at the top of my list.
My second change would be my sofa, I also do not like it, it’s a corner sofa but the cushions have all lost their shape, some are puffy, some are flat, some just sit there at an angle and it feels like I am about to slip off. I would more than likely get a 3 or 4 seater leather sofa to go along the wall. I never want to have a fabric sofa ever again.
The last thing I would change is the fireplace, it looks awful, red brick that does not go at all with my living room. My husband and I have already discussed opening it up and putting a wood burner in it instead of the open fire that is there now. It would be opened up a lot, the bricks would be gone (hooray) and we can get a surround that will go with everything else. I would also change the wallpaper that is on the chimney breast now, although I do love it I just fancy a change as we cannot paint and kit out a whole room and then leave the same wallpaper there. I haven’t found one that I particularly although this one is nice.
I am sure when we do eventually get around to doing the living room there will be something I like.
Are you thinking of redecorating?
