One thing I have learnt from having two daughters is that girl’s love to play dress up, my oldest wasn’t as dress up crazy as my youngest though and only had a few costumes. My youngest however gets new dress up clothes at least twice a year and she has a wooden toy chest filled with dress up clothes, although most do not fit her anymore so are going to the charity shop soon. As she grows he choices of what is good to dress up with changes and we have had anything from spiders and pumpkins to Peppa Pig. She still loves dressing up as a princess, what girl doesn’t but also she likes to dress as insects. She had a dress up day a few weeks ago for book week and she had been planning her costume for a while she wanted to be a Bee. I asked why as the dress up day was for Book Week and she said she wanted to be Ruby Lee the Bumble Bee so I took her choice on board ready to purchase it nearer the time.
I was the approached to review a fancy dress costume by Props n Frocks asking if I’d like to review a children’s fancy dress costume. This couldn’t have come at a better time, and they had a bumble bee costume which was even better.
The Girls Bumble Bee costume comes in 3 sizes, small, medium and large and comprises of dress, wings, head boppers and sleevelets.
The dress is made from 100% polyester and has fair bit of stretch on i. It has spaghetti straps, a felt flower on the left of the chest and there is black and yellow netting underneath the skirt part of the dress. it is handwash only. The sleevelets are made from the same material as the upper part of the dress and again have lots of stretch to them.
The wings are big and have glitter on them. They have elastic pieces where your child puts their arms in so the wings are on their back. For some reason my daughter’s wings always look wonky haha.
The final piece are the head boppers which are glittery gold.
My daughter loves the bumble bee costume and really enjoyed wearing it on the dress up day for book week. Plus it was something completely different than the other children who preferred princesses, pirates and the likes.
I thought it was a great price for everything that was with it at only £16.80 too and delivery is pretty fast.
Disclaimer: I received the Girls Bumble Bee costume for free for this review. All thoughts are my own and have not been influenced in any way.
