My daughter loves to make things, we have a whole cupboard full of craft items like glue, paints, paint brushes, paper, pens, pencils, you name it we probably have it. So when I was asked if we would like to review the Go Create Easter kits I knew my daughter would love it, I couldn’t say no.
We received Bunny Glasses, Bonnet Decorating Kit and Fuzzy Stick Decorations. My daughter wanted to do one straight away and as these kits say that all they need is glue she could get started.
The Bunny Glasses Kit come complete with plastic glasses, foam and instructions. All of the kits are suitable for age 3 upwards and we found that the instructions were very easy to understand and follow.
My daughter completed this all on her own without any help at all and I thought she did a fantastic job. All that was needed after she had stuck it all together was waiting for it to dry.
Here is her finished creation.
We couldn’t actually do the Bonnet Decorating Kit as we haven’t got a bonnet which disappointed my daughter a bit.
I think this kit would have been better if it supplied a bonnet with it just a cheap one or one that you could make yourself. So unfortunately we couldn’t try out this kit.
We did get to try the Fuzzy Stick Decorations although this did try our patience quite a bit. Inside the box were felt, cord, fuzzy sticks, wobbly eyes, ribbon and instructions.
My daughter tried this on her own at first and got the hump quite early in. She followed the instructions exactly but the fuzzy sticks would not stick to the felt no matter how hard she tried. I thought this might have just been something she was doing wrong so I tried myself and I had no luck either, they just wouldn’t stick.
I guess using super glue may have helped but it was a no go completely with PVA glue. I think that the thickness of the felt had some part in it, I think it would have been better if the fuzzy sticks were stuck onto paper or card instead. We also struggled making a hole in the felt to attach the cord. I don’t think it would be easy for a 3 year old to do at all.
We did manage to make an improvised Easter egg adding the ribbon spots and cord. This was the best we could do with it.
All of these kits were available at Easter at Tesco and cost between £1 and £3.
