Soft sole shoes are very important for baby and toddlers feet I tend to let Zander go bare feet or wear soft sole shoes every opportunity I can when he is indoors and playing in the garden.
We were sent a pair of Dotty Fish Blast Off! Rocket Ship Shoes to try and I could not wait to see what he thought of them.
Here is a bit about Dotty Fish;
Dotty Fish have always been passionate about baby foot health and are keen to get the message out to parents on the benefits of wearing soft sole shoes. They have been working closely with The London Podiatry Centre, one of the most advanced podiatric clinics in the world, looking at the effects of soft-soled footwear on a child who is learning to walk and taking those crucial first steps.“We want to give people the information needed to make an informed choice when buying footwear for young children. We want to create a movement, one that looks at what is best for babies’ feet.” explains Helen Chapman, founder of Dotty Fish.
When they arrived it was nice to see that they were well presented in a large organza bag but without all the needless packaging other companies use, so great for the environment too.
The Blast Off! Rocket Ship shoes are a new addition to the variety of boy’s shoes available at Dotty Fish and the quality, as always, is amazing. They are made using soft breathable charcoal grey leather which has a shooting star and 2 other stars stitched to the top as well as the colourful rocket ship.
The Dotty Fish tag is at the side of the shoe, which indicates which foot it goes on too. The cuff where the heel sits is really soft too, it has elastic at the front part of the opening that is also sewn into the back cuff to give the perfect fit for both thin and wide feet and they don’t dig in.
The suede sole has the Dotty Fish logo on it, this is non-slip, which makes them a perfect choice for both babies and toddlers who are crawling, cruising and walking, especially on hard surfaces like wooden and laminated floors. The sole is also flexible allowing young children to find their balance and grip the floor. They are also podiatry tested.
So what did Zander think of them? Well as soon as he saw them he wanted to wear them, although he does not call them shoes, always slippers and he asked to have them put on him every morning when he gets up.
He can run, jump, play in them easily as they move with his feet and most of all he likes the stars and rocket ships on the shoes.
Since he wears them every day I thought they may have scuffed or looked a bit tired by now but apart from a little discolouring where his toes and heel are on the bottom of the sole they look as good as new.
Would I recommend the Blast Off! Rocket Ship shoes? Of course I would, I know they are much better for his feet than hard sole shoes. Plus they look cute too.
The Blast Off! Rocket Ship Shoes are available in sizes 0-6 months to 3-4 years. There is a handy size guide on the Dotty Fish website so you know exactly which size would be better for your little one.
