We were asked if we would like to review Boom Blast Stix game , I thought as it is different from many games my daughter would really enjoy this.
The container that the game came in was cylinder shaped and the contents are; 32 Stix, 1 container and 1 instruction manual.
This is that it says on the side of the container;
The explosive game for those with a gentle touch and nerves of steel! Set the Stix and build the stack but make a wrong move and you’ll blow it!
The aim of the game is to stack as many pieces as you can before they go off, a high risk, unpredictable and addictive game which is sure to be full of laughter as players react to the cascading pieces!
You use the container as your playing surface, you can choose to use the lid alone or the lid fixed onto the container.
The Stix are triangular in shape and they are open to start with, each player takes a turn but grabbing a Stix, they set and lock it then place it gently onto the playing surface. If gentle enough you can get quite a pile made with them.
My daughter and I played this without reading exactly what happens when the Stix open, we had a rough idea but while concentrating so hard on placing the Stix on the playing surface gently and getting them all to fit on the surface we were lost in our own little world.
It exploded, now when I say exploded I mean exploded, the Stix flew up in the air and all over the room but as we wasn’t expecting it to happen quite like that it frightened the life out of us and we both screamed, then couldn’t stop laughing.
When we had managed to take control of our laughter we had to go find the Stix, they literally were everywhere and after a final could we noticed one was missing. Hmm where could it be? I had no idea I had searched high and low.
Sorry we have no images of the actual explosion, but I could not risk my camera lens getting hit :/
About 15 minutes later I was telling my husband how the game made us jump out of our skins and that we couldn’t find the last piece I joked that it was probably stuck in the curtain as they reached quite a height. Low and behold I went back into the room, shook the curtain and out fell the missing Stix. Which made us all start laughing again.
This is a great game although you really do need nerves of steel to play it. I wouldn’t recommend playing it at grannies house.
