I was sent The Big Family School Year Dairy to review from Mum’s Office. This diary is for august 2013 – August 2014. Now I have two daughters who 16 and 6 so obviously they go to different schools. My youngest is in primary school and my eldest is heading to college in September. The problem I have with them both at different schools is remember all the events that happen at the school and college. There always seems to be something I forget so I thought this would be ideal for me to review as I have the mind of a sieve just lately.
The Big Family School Year Diary is a little smaller than A4 size measuring 24cm x 19cm, it is a hard backed book with silver embossed 2013 2014 on the front of it. The pattern is crocodile skin and it is available in both raspberry and peppermint colours, I received a raspberry one.
On the first page on the diary is where you would write family details, names, mobile numbers, address, phone number and a emergency contact. Flip the page and you can find top tips from MUM’s Office. There are also suggestions on how to use The Big Family School Year Diary.
There is a full page to place Mum’s information, another page to place Dad’s information and five pages to place your children’s information as well as contacts pages. It also has a Pocket money record sheet which can be quite handy. The diary has plenty of space to write in your Dates To Remember .
The next section is Need To Know which features clothing sizes in British, American and European sizes, metric conversions, temperature conversions, Wedding anniversaries and what year stands for what for example seventh is woollen so maybe I will leave this in front of my husband for the next couple of weeks in the hope he will by me a nice jumper or something for our anniversary.
There is Zodiac names and the dates they fall on and birthstones and flowers. There is Need To Know Numbers where you can write important numbers down in one place this has been particularly handy as we usually search for a while looking for the important numbers we need. Plus there is a lot of space to write down important website addresses and place to put all the numbers you have stored in your mobile phone in case you lose it or it breaks.
There is a section for Our Plans which runs from July 2013 right up until August 2015, our week Autumn, Spring and Summer Terms, and Year at a glance 2013 – 2015.
Finally there is a weekly view planner running from August 2013 – August 2014 where you can write your plans, notes, lists, to do lists and on a second page there is a lot of space to write everyone else’s week there is also a lot of Notes pages.
I really like the style and design of the diary, first because I like pink but also I have two children and there are 2 different coloured ribbons attached to the diary in pink and purple so I can keep track if I slot the ribbons in the right place of the diary.
There is plenty of room to write all school events and term times etc. There is also elastic which you can slip over the Big Family School Year Diary so the book stays well kept or you can put the elastic in the week section you need.
There is also an elastic loop where you can keep a pen. This is particularly handy when a teacher comes up to you in the playground telling you of something that will be happening or even birthday parties that children are having.
The Big Family School Year Diary will help me to keep everything school related organised so I know when parents evenings, open days and the likes are happening. I think this will be a blessing once the school year begins.
