Yesterday I witnessed something absolutely crazy. If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last few months you would have heard of Mrs Hinch. The country has gone absolutely bonkers over her and the products she recommends.
As her following went up and up a lot of the products went out of stock and if they haven’t then they are becoming harder to find. Some stores are getting sneaky with it too, knowing they are one of the only few to have a certain product, I have seen one particular item that was £1 just 3 weeks ago now being sold for £1.75!
So yesterday the much wanted Minky M Cloth was restocked after being out of stock for a few weeks and it was like Black Friday on Amazon, people going mental trying to get hold of that all illusive Minky. Hundreds if not thousands of women complaining because they were out of stock so quickly. Others being greedy ordering ten or more using family accounts so they would get around the 2 per person rule. Only so they could sell this product that is now sold out in the UK on eBay so potentially can make quite a big profit on them.
Now, this may sound awful but after looking on eBay seeing how much these cloths are selling for I don’t actually blame them. I saw one go for £50 plus postage ridiculous as when they are in stock costs between £1.50 and £2 in a supermarket. I do think that one listing was a joke listing though as one ended at £8500 today. I am pretty sure no one would pay that kind of money for a cleaning pad that will be back in stock next week but if that was a true bid then wow absolute madness!
I will be glad when the fad dies down and I can go to the shops to by my regular cleaning products and the shops actually have it in stock. But for anyone that is still wanting a Minky M Cloth, there are alternatives like the E-Cloth cleaning pad, Scrub Buddy, M&S sell their own ones for £1. It isn’t the end of the world because a product is out of stock. Improvise. What did they use before Mrs H was popular?
