We were given the chance to try out the Perfume Factory from Flair PLC and my daughter went absolutely wild when it arrived.

Here is a little about it;

With an assortment of real base notes and top notes the possibilities are endless Store your favourite perfume creation in the beautiful stained glass bottles. The set has 5 small bottles for experimenting with different scent combinations. Use stickers to label your scents and give them to your friends. Create perfumed Ruby Gel Pot Pourri to make your room smell divine. You can store and display your equipment and perfumes in the pink storage unit.
It wasn’t long before my daughter pestered me to start making her perfume so one afternoon we got the box out and got started. First I read the safety sheet and then the instruction manual and once that was done we began.
The first thing we had to do was choose which scent of perfume we would like, we had four to choose from; Rose, Jasmine, Mint and Eucalyptus, I let my daughter choose and her choice was rose.
She pulled the plunger from the pump right out, opened the pack of Rose scented card sample and took one out using the tweezers provided. She placed the rose scented card into the pump and put the plunger back in and squashed the card down. When she had finished that part we filled the cup with warm water and sucked up the water until the pump was at 5ml. She then sucked air into the pump, put her finger over the hole and shook the pump for a while. It said the card will turn into a soft mass of fibres.
We squeezed the liquid from the pump into the cup. Now in the instructions it stated that the perfume would look cloudy, but it really wasn’t cloudy, we were shaking for over 10 minutes too but it did smell nice.
My daughter took the mushy card out of the pump and put a cotton wool filter into it and then proceeded to pour the perfume from the cup into the pump over a vial. She pressed the plunger gently to avoid any spillages and once she managed to get every last drip from it she put the vial lid on and put the sticker on the vial.
She really enjoyed doing it and so she did every scent that was in the box.
Once she had finished her vial of perfume she was eager to try the Crystal Gel Pourri, this was so easy to do. Put 20ml water into the cup, add 2 drops of colouring and pour it into the pot. Add 1 scoop of polyacrylate crystals into the pot and leave it for around 20 minutes. Then simple add the scent of your choice pouring the vial onto the crystals. MY daughter chose eucalyptus as she felt she was getting a bit of a cold. After a while the crystals gave off a lovely soft scent of eucalyptus.
Over all my daughter really enjoyed this set and she still has plenty left to make more perfume and gel pourri’s when she has ran out of her current ones.
