Welcome to my pregnancy diary. I decided to mash two weeks into one post as to be honest not a lot has been happening as I was awaiting my 12 week scan but it didn’t happen until yesterday 13+1.
My bump is starting to grow and I am feeling more wiggles during the day, not all of the time just off and on. I still haven’t got that pregnancy glow, I look pasty. The only glow I get is when I go out in the cold and my nose goes red!
I have not been sleeping very well, I just can’t get comfortable and am tossing and turning all night, that is when I am not getting up for heartburn remedy and numerous toilet trips.
Week 12 was spend willing the days to go fast so the scan would get here quicker.
Fast forward to Tuesday this week… my appointment was for an NT dating scan, I got there half an hour early, mainly because we were not sure what the traffic would be like on the way there and trying to find a parking space at the hospital can take a while too.
After an hour wait and at this point a bladder that was fit to burst I was called in, and we got to see our baby again, it was laying upside down to start with.
Now baby was being a bit of a naughty one and was bouncing around, flipping over and just not sitting still for a moment, which made the sonographers job of getting measurements from the back of the neck and the actual CRL measurement very difficult.
She did manage to get the measurements, baby is 73.1mm from crown to rump and we were sent to get bloods for the second part of the NT test.
We were waiting another hour in there and when my turn finally came, what a surprise…my veins were not playing ball. In the end they had to use a butterfly thing to draw the blood which I do prefer anyway.
Finally we were on our way home.
Here is the photo we got of the baby, unfortunately it was of the back of the baby but it is a brilliant shot of its little hand.
My husband and I discussed yesterday about getting an early gender scan as my 20 week scan is not until I am 21 weeks and seems so long to wait. We booked one last night for the Saturday before Christmas 🙂
