We were sent a box of different craft materials this month as part of Bostik Bloggers. This month the theme was Valentine’s. I could have made a lot of creations with this myself but I left it to my children to make things that they wanted to make as they love nothing more than making and crafting things.
Here is a photo of what was in the box. It included polystyrene heart, ribbon, material, card, glue, glitter pens, stickers and well as lots more.
My youngest daughter knew exactly what she was going to make, she selected the card and ribbons she wanted to use and used the glue to layer it all. I love how this turned out. The polystyrene heart looks great with the glitter gel on the top, they look like lots of different kinds of gems.
She told me this was a card front for a Valentine’s day card but she needed to get some thicker card to actually make the card part. So we are going to purchase some this week.
Here is her finished piece;
My other daughter was procrastinating a lot before starting anything at all, she seemed to spend a lot of time on her computer looking for ideas but once she had come up with some things she got to work.
Here first piece was a Love Bug, which used 2 different coloured foam hearts, 3 of each, glitter gel and striped card as a background.
The second piece was a heart background with a hot air balloon on it, this looks fantastic, she used gold mirrored card, white foam for the clouds and foam, ribbon and felt for the hot air balloon.
I think this has got to be my favourite.
For her third piece she used red glitter card, fabric and foam hearts, buttons glued in the shape of a heart, a felt blue bird, felt flower and a leaf.
I think she will be using this one for a Valentines card for her boyfriend.
Both of the children enjoyed getting crafty with this challenge. It really got their creative juices flowing and they are proud of their finished projects.
