I have been chosen along with 6 other bloggers as a Quorn Ambassador and I am so excited about it. I am sure you all know what Quorn is but for those of you that don’t Quorn is a food brand. their food products are made using Mycoprotein. Mycoprotein is a healthy protein source that is meat free and naturally low in saturated fat and high in fibre. so perfect for vegetarians, those on high protein diets and those who are watching or trying to lose weight.
I love Quorn because although it might not be meat the products look like the meat version.
My particular favourites are Quorn’s sausages, burgers and chicken fajita strips. I find the taste of these are almost as good as regular meat but they are mostly less calories that the real meat versions and I can enjoy decent meals that fills me up whilst dieting so I am not constantly hungry. My family also enjoy Quorn products so there is no separate meal planning when dieting we can all eat the same thing and they are eating healthier too.
During my time as a Quorn Ambassador I will be posting on my blog monthly about my fitness goal, how I am doing, the struggles I may be having and things like that.
I know you are now asking what my fitness goal is so I suppose I better tell you. I have put on quite a bit of weight on around my mid section. It is awful, I hate it in fact considering I lost so much weight a couple of years previously. I want to get rid of it of course but I want to lose the weight gradually and still be able to eat meals I enjoy and not calorie count as that just stresses me out too much.
I also want to some exercise but it needs to be in the home as I am a full-time carer and I need to fit it around normal life as I don’t have time to go to the gym.
I am also limited to which exercise I can do at the moment too but need to do something so I decided to purchase a treadmill, walking and power walking at home every day for half an hour to start but will increase to jogging and to an hour a day in the future.
So with the help of Quorn products, Quorn recipes that are on their website, some determination, exercise, less tea and more water I am pretty confident that I will be able to lose what I need to.
Bring it on!!
